XM in the USA

Hi all,

Last spring pre-pandemic I bought a 1991 XMV6 in Italy, drove it around Europe, and finally it arrived to me in the US last fall. I’m delighted with it and have always wanted one since I saw the iconic chase scene in the firm Ronin many years ago. It’s was joined at the same time by a 1993 Renault Twingo. I now have a 1987 CX 25 Prestige Turbo 2 arriving next week! I look forward to learning from this valuable resource and thanks in advance for the help I know I will need.

Cheers,
Gavin

Hi, and welcome.

Twingo! - and a Mk.1 as well - a great little car. Have had the pleasure of driving one on several occasions. 1200cc iirc, and an interesting "back seat or boot space" choice. Real cutie, which came in all manner of interesting colours. Never offered in UK, as it wasn't made in RHD.

Do post some photos of the XM (and Twingy). Lots of useful information here, and a few other stateside members as well. Whereabouts are you based?

Quite the extreme in vehicle choices, there.
Two kitted out, continent crossing, luxo-barges and a stripped out, micro, City car.

We never officially saw the Cx Prestige Turbo, or the Twingo on these shores, both only made in Lhd.

There seems to be a growing interest in the Xm, Stateside.
A '91 car is a nice early model, with Hydractive 1 suspension.

Coming to Europe, buying a large Citroen to drive round in...are you sure your film influence was Ronin...maybe it was National Lampoons' European vacation.

Seems it is becoming a national pastime for USA car enthusiasts. Forget buying Kiss Me Quick hats, or a bottle of Ouzo as a holiday momento.
