Hi, I've just bought a 1992 XM 21.SD, reg number K47 BAN, which I understand is fairly well know on this forum. I won't pick it up for a few weeks yet, but I'm very excited about my new purchase! I've not had an XM before, but have wanted one for a long time. I had a C6 a couple of years ago and most of my other classic cars I've had have been BMW's (of which I still own a 1971 2002 Touring which I'm currently restoring) but don't hold that against me!

All the best

Paul

I don't need to.. Look in the members cars section. And my name.

I hope she will now stay with you. A car I wish I'd never sold. I'm also called Paul... Not sure if I have spoken to you on any fb pages either but the car has had a lot of work. Non abs mechical injection means the oy ecu on the car is the suspension. And to over come any issues there is always c5 spheres you can fit.

That car has passed through a few hands, but I understand the seller has spent quite a bit of money and time ensuring it is in good shape.

A previous member on here purchased it about 12 months ago. I suspect it was let go due to space and other reasons.

Hi all,

Well, that didn't work out as planned. I bought the car in April but never took delivery as the garage I was buying it from had to get it MOT'd... It failed on a hydraulic pipe and rust in the sills. The garage (Cambridge Autos) said they would do the work (hydraulic pipe at Plaides) and I'd have it in a few weeks. Weeks turned into months as they found more and more rust. Inner and outer sills, replacing years of patches on patches, subframes, boot floor, the list went on. They were very up front and I must say, had the most amazing customer service. They were going through he car top to bottom and documenting all the welding but it got to the point (5 months later) where it needed more work doing than was reasonable for me to wait and them to fit in around jobs so I got my money back and they said they will do the work over the winter and put it up for sale again next year. Such a shame because it drove beautifully, but I feel I had a very lucky escape!!

One day I'll have an XM I'm sure, maybe even this one!

All the best

Paul.
