Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

Black XM's my favorite 'colour'. Would look even better with blacked out windows.

Are there any Black series 1s?

I too have a near 'mint' s1 2.0SEi auto on a H plate. Lovely to look at and if you like
that sort of thing the leather electric seats are honestly like new! The problem though
lies in the car's description = auto! It doesn't get out of second gear.

No, I've never bothered as in my mind it's always been earmarked for spares although in my heart
it really is a case of the hackneyed "it's too good to scrap" so I've dithered about it really. Top
spec car that was pampered and loved (FCSH fwiw) by it's previous owner yet it died within
4-5 months of the new owner buying it (my pal) so it may have had ageing pains as was 'got rid'
when it still appeared to work.

I inherited it in lieu of work/time I'd done for the last owner.
So, nice car, big problem, no pics, no idea!

bit of a dilema then Andrew, like you say it would be a shame to break such a car but i guess although top spec sei's dont exactly grow on trees its not a prv 24v is it and choices must be made i suppose.

Dean, he said a 2.oi N/a... Ive an Auto box from a turbo that would do the job, mind you, you'd be able to fix it.. also PRV 24v's were NEVER auto'd, and ALL are manual..

I think anyone could sort this out easily Paul, i think its the 2-3 shift valve on the regulator by Andrews discription, only need to take the N/S wheel off and arch liner to get to it, no need to open the bonnet even! same as Les had if you remember only his was the 1-2 shifter valve i think.
Seems a shame to let it lay unloved............yes i know its an N/A but for all the talk of them being gutless, (more so with mechanical ignition auto's, i do like them) i do like them very much, when ive done the conversion on mine i may seek out another N/A to keep original.

Well don't forget I'm rather partial to n/a 2.0i's and most of 'em are manual so this may
sit a while yet though I have an undertaking to trim the fleet down even though I don't
want to, I need to. :(

The 2.0 n/a's without a cat are a damned fast machine; I feel there's a lot of opinion on
them that may be founded on cat equipped cars or even road tests of the day! OK, it's not
a 170bhp V6 but then again, 85% of the time in truth you cannot even use fractions of the
performance on many cars, let alone the 200bhp of a 24v'er = the sheer volume of traffic/
numpties aiming for 80mpg. I'm not saying go out and buy a 1.4i Micra either and the gaps
will appear in the traffic easier in a car with grunt, undoubtedly, just a daily 2.0i will do
a good job and not punish your wallet. I used to default to my red 2.0i n/a non cat to tow
a car transporter trailer with a CX on it and it towed bloody well!!

There's nothing wrong with 2.0i n/a's - I should know, I've got almost a dozen of them!!

I love my 2.0 n/a Manual. I find it to be a quick car. Its the fastest car I own. Great performance, its no super car, but its more than adequate for the job in hand. It can go a lot faster than the roads permit, and can get you to those speeds quick enough too.

I think that car of yours Andrew should be repaired, and it does sound like the problem Les had, and it was a relatively simple fix.

And the amount of room in the engine bay is phenominal.
