Hello everybody

Post by spanners » Sat Jun 19, 2010 6:42 am

Hi everyone, just thought I should finally get round to introducing myself.

I'm Jon AKA Spanners and I tend to "loiter" around various Citroen related forums including the BX Club and www.international2cvfriends.com to satisfy my addiction!

Earlier in the week I bought a rather nice 2.1 manual saloon from Peter N of this here "Parish", although not my first XM I'm getting to know them again as it's been 7 years since my last one which was a 2.1 auto saloon-never owned another car that was so relaxing to drive!

I'm into Citroens generally with my real passion being 2CVs and my old faithful BX TZD-7 years and 107k miles in that time and still counting and I can count the breakdowns on my thumb! Guess mine really does love driving, hate garages then? ;)

I'll shut up now but here's a couple of pictures of my "fleet"

Most recent aquisition with the cat realising that black cars in the sunshine are what he lives for!!

My beloved BX on it's way back down Stelvio Pass in 2008 (I took a 1969 2CV van over Stelvio the previous September!)

And lastly, my road legal racing 2CV, built for the princely sum of about £400-"Big thrills, cheap bills" as the club used to say.

Welcome John,

I love the BX. Class shape. I kind of wish I had kept mine, but I had and have too many cars.

Hi Jon

An official welcome to the club :D Glad you are pleased with the car, I'm sure you will soon have it knocked into shape. That BMW doesn't ride like the XM :(

Peter

PS. Did you notice I had changed the cam belt, there is a sticker on the engine.

Nice pictures, nice vehicles. The BX, yes that car served me well too for 7 years (had 2 in succession).
I can count the breakdowns on my thumb!
Just wonder what kind of thumb you have :?

Ya nice cars!
Maybe you are being a bit unfair to the cat, you know the way they can hear things that we cant, maybe its trying to adjust the aerial for best reception!
