Starting young

Hi all,
Have been reading through most of the posts on here now and thought its time for me to introduce myself.
I'm 19 years old and will be starting uni next year. Currently i am spending a year in europe and ironically currently in a hotel room in paris
I have always preferred french cars for their design and character, much unlike all the jap appliances we have here on NZ. But each to there own.
I saw my first XM in london and loved how it looked and i made a mental note of researching the car and ever since have been wanting to have one.

I am excited to announce that i have just purchased my first Xm! Non other than the mk1 2.0 SEI of "KIWI".

My Dad drives a xantia and also has a renault alpine gta aswel as a renault 8 that he is restoring. My mum traded her modern Espace for a renault 16ts as a daily driver.
And i in my short driving time have had a volvo 740 and 940.

So as you can probably see the addiction runs in the blood.

Looking forward to getting back to in nz and driving my new car!!
Also look forward to getting my hands dirty looking after my Xm.

Good news on the purchase Rick.

if you see any XM's don't forget to rip the strut tops off....don't worry if they are still in use..our need is greater than theirs....

Welcome Rick. My first xm was a 2.0 SEI too, wish I still had it now but the full leather still lives on in my current xm.

Reminds me of my first XM, an S1 2.0i, at age 19, the good old days!

Thanks for the big welcome. Im certainly looking forward to getting home now and begging the experience.
I don't think i'm the first NZ member as i baught this car from a member on here called "kiwi", he has made more posts on the .com forum.

Will keep you up to date and let you know of my first impressions. (long time ago for some)

No Rick you are not the first but I'm sure you wont be the last - Welcome. I'm in Hawera which is close to Manaia which has for many years been considered the "Home of Citroen in NZ"

Good to see a keen young Kiwi lad enamoured with the Citroen marque.
You're in company Rick, I'm another Kiwi lad, well 'lad' may be pushing it a bit but you get my drift.
A good model you've got there. I have owned an 89 2.0i manual for about 4 years and it's done a power of work. I use it as my work vehicle and it's carried and pulled a ton of stuff. I think I could safely say it has been one of the best cars I have ever owned.
