My second Xm was a Hydractive 2 car, it was built for delivery in Jan 1994, it was a great car.

Many thanks for that John and it was getting a bit confusing for sure. I think what also added to it all was that the car was produced for the European market and not the UK hence having to put my order through Citroen Paris!

I asked my wife to check the steering as I was beginning to wonder if it was me, but she confirms that it is self-centering and changes in "feel" with speed! Also I can confirm that it is 3 turns lock to lock and has a twin spoke steering wheel as you can see from the pictures - interesting!

I can also confirm that the Climate control is now working perfectly after it visit to the hospital! So we continue with replacing the dash/fascia bulbs hopefully. Once again thanks to all that offered assistance and I will continue in my quest to find an SM (there is a nice one on the Reunion island if anyone is interested!!!).

This car is one of the few Hydractive 2 Mk1 XM's.
Dravi is theoretically possible as the car is LHD but not aware that any other than V6's were fitted with Dravi.

John
It sports one or two other features that are usually associated with the V6 as well by the way, I got that comment from a Citroen garage in the UK on its first service just before I brought it over to France.

What features are they, the only difference between a V6 and other models is the engine.

I'm even more confused about the DIRAVI issue now as XM DIRAVI is 3.5 turns lock to lock, is yours 3 or 3.5 turns and does it self centre when stationery?

Hi - Well what I do remember (its a long time ago) is that it has twin cooling fans which I was told aren't normally fitted with the diesel, colour coordinated mirrors, graduated window tinting and I am sure a couple of other things, I will ask Ann later she is at work in it at the moment. I will also re-check this thing about the steering, but I should have the car here all the time after the weekend Ann is picking up her C3 HDi70 Tonic Saturday.

I've never seen an Xm with graduated tint and it's not listed as a factory replacement screen, though they do all have the sun-screen dots. Maybe it's had an after-market replacement with a sunband, also I've never seen an XM without twin cooling fans, but again maybe in Norway for n/a diesels that might be the case.
Later S1 Se cars were colour coded on the bumpers, mirrors and scuttle cover. It does look smart.

My fans, 1990 2.1td, no A/c.

Hi - Well at long last I have got around to it and on checking the steering it has 3.5 turns from lock to lock. Also I have taken a couple of pictures that show up the tint in the windows clearly as a comparison to the normal colour around.

Hi Tony, that's a lovely clean engine and car.

I can't see what makes the tint different, is it darker towards the rear of the car? We get the standard heat reflective tint..not sure if that is different, or not.

It seems you definitely do have Davari, which is interesting with your car not being a 3.0 petrol. Maybe any Se spec car could have Diravi in LHD.

The one you have pictured is my 1990 car with Lucas fuel pump and no EGR, here are a couple of 1992 I have, both with Bosch pump, like yours, one with and one without EGR..

Both in need or restoration to road-worthyness. this is how they arrived a couple of weeks ago.

Hi all

Love this XMs' deep blue color.

I don't see the DIRAVI centrifugal regulator, so it should be a standard DIRASS. The regulator should seat between the LHM tank and the inlet manifold -as on V6s. Can't imagine they've placed it elsewhere in the bay especially for this XM, but a look will tell -it's about the size of a sphere but painted black, you can't miss it. Or, if it has an FDV screwed somewhere at the front of the engine's block, again this confirms it's a DIRASS. For all the adverts/threads of LHD cars I've seen, none other than V6s had Diravi.

Window tint- I think all XMs have it as on this blue example.
