Yours is still on a single electrovalve and switching into sport on driver demand, unlike later ones (1994) which have two valves and the Sport switch just alters the parameters of when to switch.

As a matter of interest does yours have the aluminium inlet manifold and an EGR valve, or still the plastic intake and no EGR valve.
Confusingly the earlier one of mine has the aluminium manifold and an EGR valve, the slightly later one has a plastic manifold and no valve.

One possibility is that it has had a replacement engine, but I think that's unlikely, more likely is that Auto's didn't have EGR at first. I need to check the engine number.

Hi Simon, A warm welcome to the Club and I too like the colour, which is definitely 'Platinum', ie. light grey, rather than the dark blue anthracite or silicon greys available around that time. In my collection I have three Platinums, a V6 12v (1990), V6 24v (1991) and 2.0sei (1993). I understand your preference for the original alloy design, although the wobbly webs are correct for the period. If the car is a true Series 1.5 it will have hydractive 2 suspension fitted, for which the manual settings will be 'Normal' and 'Sport', rather than 'Auto' and 'Sport'. With regards, Matthew T.

S1.5s are Hydractive 1 with improoved computer parameters arent they, and a SINGLE electro valve.. The car is a 1993 K reg, which is the same as my V6 sei, and she has Hydractive 1 with H3 computer, which is the better setup..

Hydractive two wasn't along till M reg S2 cars... I could be wrong though.

The system on S1.5 cars IS the most reliable setup!

Is the change in wording the way to tell H1 from H2?? Or has your 1993 SEi got two electro valves Mathew?

My 1993 K reg V6 sei doesn't have two - from what I remember that is..
