Hi every one, been driving Citreons now for a while, like them ever since my dad got the DI estate, I went from owning a Triumph 2000 TC mk1 to a Citreon GSA special (estate) early 80's, then 2 CX,s Estates one 2.4 petrol the other 2.5 diesel 80's and 90's, then a BX 1.7 diesel 90's then late 90's I got a XM petrol salon an engine that I though was to small for the weight of the car, then early 00's I bought this 2.1 sd tbd estate (K reg) and up to last week was still doing 42mpg, and now its off the road waiting for me to repair it, Not to sure what is wrong with it yet, but have found other parts that need repalcing or repaired.

What happen was a lump of rubber in the anti-vibration pully wheel broke off and slip onto the timing belt, sent the engine out of time but still ran, damage done, breaking up an L reg for the engine now (so parts are up for grabs) shame about having to break up the L reg but I don't think it will pass another mot, would cost to much to put right (front windsceen, massive electrical problem, rear door will not hold up, unlock or lock, body is rusting out where its spent most of its life near the sea).

welcome fellow XM driver: that's my biggest worry - I take it you're going for a new pulley rather than the one from the donor car
