ABS light can be anything from a dodgy connection one one of the four sensor plugs, to a duff sensor completely, to an issue with the ABS block..

Useually a duff sensor. Ive also known it to be as simple as dirt between the Sensor end and the teeth of the ring...

Check light.. Could be a Lamba sensor giving duff readings, to an air leak in the intake system. Idealy the car needs to be put on a Lexia or Elite Diagnostic to read out the fault codes..

Absolutely so paul, a Lexia/ELIT check can save hours of faffing around trying this and that in blind hope... A few seconds on the ELIT went straight to Sam's problem the other day on his TCT.

Bertie, where are you as over on FCF there's a list of Lexia owners willing to run diagnostics and not only will it help nail the engine issue but the ABS problem too..

I'm near Milton Keynes, just off the M1, and always happy to run a diagnostic and offer advice following same.

Theres a fair few people dotted around the country who have them and some are willing to pop them on members cars to do a session...

They do but their knowledge of the older stuff may well be a bit thin on the ground these days and they may not fully understand what the diagnostics is telling them; the Lexia and ELIT are not very verbose at times and their findings need some degree of interpretation and often only make sense when you really understand what you're diagnosing; they don't give an answer on a plate.

I doubt many current service technicians know much about 90s Citroen engines and ABS systems. We do!
