Newbie and potential XM owner!

Post by Andxm » Fri Jan 10, 2014 7:08 pm

Hello, I have been considering a classic Citroen for years and maybe now is the time. I always liked the XM but it's beginning to look more interesting as the years roll by and looking at how few are left in the UK I'd best get a move on!
Ideally looking for series 1 V6 SEi, preferably Auto but I detect that won't be easy. I suspect whatever I buy will need some work so it's nice to see a knowledgable crowd on this forum, if anyone has any pointers please get in touch.

Cheers, Andy

Welcome Andy.

It's the opposite actually. The xm is very common with auto and it's only very early G and some H reg v6 that will be manual.

The v6 sei is a great spec but go for a K L or early M if you can. I say this as sei spec was up graded in late 1992 and cruise control was added to the spec. Early v6 doesn't have it.also the electrics got a minor upgrade to bolted earth's in the engine bay which helped a lot also a clarion rds radio and cd changer was added too.

yes any xm from anyone except an enthusiast will need work of some kind doing. I've got 5 xm here including a K reg V6 Sei auto with LPG but needing some rest which I have everything to do it. But there's other xm needing attention in the que first.
Projects:(eventually if theres any bodywork left)
