3 litre v6 estate

Hi
I am new to this forum, but have run xm's for many years
from 2 litre s1 to several v6 models.
My current model is a V6 3 litre Exclusive Estate series 2 of 1995 origin, quite rare I believe,
it has been off the road for several years and I now need to resurrect it, but I need to find another engine, due
to previous serious water problems! Any suggestions or leads?

Hi and welcome to the forum !
I'm not into 3.0 V6's but would this one on
E-BAY do/fit ?
It would be nice for a Pug to be a donor to a Citroen vehicle for a change

Is it really an Exclusive? I didn't think Breaks were delivered in Exclusive version.
Would be nice to know. I'm (slowly) converting my V6 Break which was VSX to Exclusive level.
This means getting the tripcomputer in, other dash and doorcards and b pillar trim to allow air to reach the backseat among some other things.....

Hi furriegurrie
The 1995 UK model year booklet lists the V6 XM Estate Exclusive.
The 1995 Model year presentation in the Citroen workshop manual does not include them in the list.
That implies that none went into volume production.
I believe a similar situation applied to the RHD Mk2 V6-24v car.
That was available to special order to be factory built as a one off.
In this case unfortunately no one ever ordered one so there were none.
UK Mk2 XM one off factory made cars with other engines did get made.
I viewed a RHD 2.5 TD estate a few years ago.
Full Exclusive spec with deep Brown Leather trim.
It had documentation with it to show it was special order built as a motor show demonstrator.
Unfortunately Citroen also freely sold exclusive badges when requested with no control of vehicle type to be fitted.
So the presence of an estate badge on an XM proves nothing.
It is the documented history with a car that will prove its right to be called and marked as an XM Exclusive.
Note also that the Mk2 was not the first use of the Exclusive badge on an XM model.
Some French Mk1's were badged and sold as Exclusives.

Interesting. Never seen an estate Exclusive in Holland. Mine was well spec'ed but still misses a lot compared to my berline which is an V6 Exclusive.
My estate was origionally a German Xm, one of the last estates build.

The final few years of XM estates in the UK came close to SX spec.
Aircon became standard, rear seat vents and headlamp washers dropped.
A few had alloys and leather cloth which suffers worse than the suede in the car drivers seat.
Where abouts in Holland are you based?

I'm in the south, close to Breda an Roosendaal. If you're in the neighbourhood you're welcome for a cup of tea or a Jupiler or 2

Hi Furriegurrie
Yes it is definitely an Exclusive, I bought it when it was 4 years old from original owner with all the history, the
car was first run by Citroen UK and is in original spec , it's never had any mods etc or fake badges and
is full exclusive spec with all the goodies you mentioned, so despite not being mentioned in the
workshop manual list, some Were produced, perhaps to special order, but with a price tag of around £30 K it's not
really surprising there was no volume production !
