Hi xantia_v6.

Thanks for that info. The figures I have been quoted were indeed for a pre-1997 car, in fact for a 1996er. But are you saying that your exclusive V6 24V ES9 (seems very impressive), produces much better mpg's in town than the one's I mentioned, eg say above 22mpg?

My current car is a Rover 800 Vitesse Turbo Sport hatch, 1996, which does 22mpg in town, so that kind of consumption is about acceptable from my point of view.

It depends of course where "in town" is... and how much of the time you are actually moving, but I would say that 22MPG is easily attainable in most situations. I never saw average consumption that bad (although I have always had some A-road or motorway commute), and even short term consumption (in town) on the trip computer would support that 22MPG should not be a problem.

Hi xantia_v6,

Thanks for the info. So what kind of mpg do you get when driving your 3-litre V6 around town? At present I drive a Rover 800 Vitesse Turbo Sport (hatchback) 1996, which does 22mpg around town, so I find that kind of consumption to be acceptable.
