Hi everyone,
I have been enjoying reading up on everyones comments on XM's.
Fantastic car, I have had a series 2 that has been in our family since new- a 1998 reg blue SM.
Love the car, but have just also bought a diesel 1994 and wanna refurb it to top condition as I prefer the interior and have always wanted one of the oil burners...
Looking forward to sharing some info with fellow XM enthusiasts!
Cheers
Andy

Welcome to the Xm forum Andy.

Is your 94 a S1 car? 2.1TD auto or manual?

What engine does your Series 2 have?

Sounds nice, you cant beat one of each ... petrol vs diesel

HI Chris,
Yeah, my new XM is a 1.5 model..... '94 Silver auto 2.1TD. I bought it from triple A down nr. Rye back end of July... Glad to say I just got it through it's MOT last week without much bother and after a good clean she's looking pretty darn good.... Needs a bit of work on the paint and trim in places and I plan to complete the leather interior soon. But I love the car and the colour..
My S2 petrol is a 2.0l injection, has been a fantastic car over the years. Infact, just before discovering this site I spent a packet and have carried out a long list of necessary repairs.. I'm gonna have to let her go shortly though as I have no more room to store her.
I'll be sure to post a few piccs up on the site and see what anyone has to say...
All the best in the meantime.
Andy

Welcome Andy!

I'm pretty sure that armed with the collective knowledge from this forum most jobs can be tackled
on an Xm by a competent DIY'er saving you loads of £'s which could even get spent instead on a
parking spot for your expanding fleet! An advantage of this forum format over yahoo's XM-L is the
facility of directly posting decent pictures (even youtube clips).

Interested in seeing piccies and hearing about your cars and their fixes. Is the 2.0i a TCT or a 16v'er?

Welcome,
Both cars are lovely -and uncommon- colors! I find that deep blue very suitable on the XM, wonder why they are so rare.
God I wish my XMs were so pampered -polished black trims etc!
cheers
