Well, L348WRH is now mine.

Few issues on test, which I dismissed as minor but I'd like to solve.

1: Does anyone have a working glovebox ram going spare? I know they're not common but I'd quite like to sort mine out.
2: How do I get the radio code? Planning to phone the local Citroen dealer tomorrow to see if I can get it before I pick the car up, but any other ideas? The one in the radio book is wrong.
3: Does anyone have an age appropriate owners' handbook for a 1993 car going spare, that they might be prepared to sell to me?
4: Is there anything stopping me from regassing the aircon system - were these originally R12 or R134a?
5: Where on the dash/console/seat is the button to adjust the seat bolsters? It's the only thing I failed to find!

Congratulations Sam.

When I started looking for an XM I was very tempted by this car. Main problem was it was a long, long, long way from sunny Wiltshire.

If you cannot get the radio to work......see my ad in 'Sales and Wanted'! Maybe a little drastic!!!! Failing that there are internet firms that will supply you with a code given data from the radio or even Citroen from the Chassis number (if it is the original radio!)

There is a firm that will re-gas the glovebox strut for around £25. The link is buried somewhere on this forum.

Enjoy

I'd seen your radio Rob - and if I can't get this one going I'm very tempted!

My plan is to phone Citroen, as I'd like the right code for my journey back in it. I live in the Fens, but I was virtually passing as I had to nip to see family in Sheffield. Plus I do about 35000 miles a year anyway so I'm not unused to it!

I'll have a look for the link.

If the radio is the grey fronted Clarion 3100, you can just recode it by cutting the soldered links around the code chip. This will set it to 1112.
You may find the code is stuck on the unit somewhere.

SGS at Derby will regas struts, but I believe a Stabilus 1894LH would be the correct unit to fit now...and should be cheaper.

Try these people, they are very accomodating. http://www.billingtongroup.co.uk/gas_sp ... 2woddg8FZA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If the seats have bolster adjustment, it will be a knob on the side of the seat back, otherwise they don't have it.

If Sam has the grey fronted until then good luck!

I have two, neither works. Well one will switch on but then only runs for just under three minutes before dying again.!

His car is a 1.5 so the unit I have is the correct fitment (please shout if anyone knows different). It is however the wrong fitment for mine which I am trying (slowly) to return to original spec.

I will check out the strut info as mine is also clinically dead.

I have been given a code by Citroen from my reg plate. The acid test is when I collect it!

Also, does anyone have an age-appropriate handbook in their pile of spare things, which they might be prepared to let me have in exchange for some beer tokens?

I have copies of every XM Owners handbook version in my data store.
Cannot get to the actual books as they are stored away.
The scanner ones had the pages separated to get good quality copies so are not worth passing on.
There were also a number of spare books in various used condition.
I will see if I can find the box in the store.

If you have a scanned copy, that would be just as good for the time being. Could you possibly email it to info AT sam-skelton.co.uk?

Thank you!
