Hi, new member here. Hope someone can help us. We are trying to find the market value in November 2010 for an old Citroen, details as follows: 1993 L Reg Citroen XM 2.0 SEi Turbo auto, Petrol, Emerald Green Metallic, Hatchback,
79313 Mileage, 5 Doors, 15” Light Alloy Wheels, ABS, Adjustable Seat Height, Adjustable Seat Lumbar Support, Adjustable Steering Column, Automatic Transmission,Body Coloured Bumpers, Climate Control, Computer, Computer Controlled Suspension, Cruise Control, Deadlocks, Electric Door Mirrors, Electric Seats, Electric Sunroof, Electric Windows, Front Fog Lights, Front Seat Armrest, Heated Rear Screen, Immobiliser, Leather Gear knob, Leather Steering Wheel, Leather Upholstery, Locking Wheel Nuts. Does anyone out there have any evidence of the valuation of the above mentioned car in November 2010? We need this information for a dispute with an insurance company.

I 100% have no clue but I wonder if it would be listed in the Price Guide at the back of Practical Classics of 2010?

I think Sam Skelton (member on here) is a journalist for them so maybe he could easily look it up for you. You could PM him?

If not, maybe a Glass's Guide, Parker's Guide or copy of Practical Classics magazine from 2010 would be available on eBay?

Experienced members here will probably come up with the best estimates.
Would be helpful if we had some photos, and detail on the car's condition.
My own guess for 2010 might be:
Cond superb £2k
Cond average £1200
Cond poor £400

IMHO the XM hasn't quite achieved universally accepted classic status yet (but is getting there) and the classic car press is always a few years behind on such matters, IIRC. So far as insurance companies are concerned, most of them are worth pretty low figures. Exception to this is Agreed Value policy, backed up with photographic evidence and expert valuation - which is where Clubs like ours come in.

Thank you for your replies. I've looked on eBay but no luck so far. I've sent a PM to Sam Skelton so will wait to hear. Unfortunately I do not have any photos and I believe the car was in average condition.

Have looked through the Citronian adverts for the 2010 copies I could find.
Very few Mk1 XM's were being offered for sale.
Unfortunately WHM (high end seller) were marking most Mk1 XM's as POA during that year.
I could only find a couple of similar cars but both were being offered for spares.
From the prices being asked for other types of XM I think the above figures are around £200 too high.
