Hi I've just took over ownership of my dads xm estate bought new from walker farrimonds nelson branch it's the rare estate version in silver . Condition is fantastic ,apart from clouding of the chrome strips in the bumpers, it's been garaged all its life only came out on dry weekend days mileage is 19,500 eyerything is original apart from some modern Citroen wheel trims we have all the manuals , & brochures still in the glovebox along with a unopened pack or polo mints best before 1983 . The interior is grey velor everything works including the Philips cassette sound system . I put it back on the road last summer after 10 years of the road it went through the mot without any issues . This year I would like to show it off a bit maybe take my dad out in it he's 82 new and not doing much driving now . If anyone knows where there are any replacement chrome trims it would be appreciated

A warm welcome to you.

Sounds quite something, particularly the mileage! Could you post a few photos, as well as the RP number (painted on front passenger door pillar, just below the top hinge)? What engine does she have? Are you all still in Lancashire?

Hello Bruffybike, sounds like a peach car.

Replacement side trims are available in stainless steel from Brian Primmer of the Citroen Car Club for £57. The bumper trims are rarely available.

More details of the car please :)

Rob

Welcome to the forum. Wow, that's a low milage estate. Possibly dare I say the lowest known so far.

Can we see some pics. Sounds like a great car...Is it a 2.1?

Welcome to the forum

Your car sounds very nice, I presume its a 2.1 manual estate, I ran those for over 15 years and clocked up a lot of miles, lovely car, better than the C5 I have now.

At that mileage I suspect the plasti-chrome trims are clouded, not corroded, in which case a rub down with wet & dry paper, followed by a good polish will bring them back to life.

As said, stainless side trims are available and new plastic bumper trims, but the bumper trims are now £130 each from Chevronics.

The car sounds fantastic, more info and pictures, please.

That's extortionate! I thought £87 a set was having a laugh but that's taking the piss!
