Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to respond to my posts. I am quite handy with a spanner but you never know what you don't know and its good that you guys are out there for support. I have been looking for further information about my car, I can't find the paint code in front of the battery, however here is some further information.

Date first registered: November 1990
Millage: 108541 (I am the 3rd owner, I bought the car from a friend in about 1997 and I have the full main dealer service history and all original manuals.)
Registration Number: H326BTY (You might have notice in the pics, that the front plate is DCZ1643 but that was a private plate I had taken off the car and it is now back to H326BTY)

I have attached a picture of the vin plate. with the serial number etc.

I would be happy to add my car to the members register, how do I do this?

Cheers Everyone....

My earliest 12v auto has RP 4928 that gives build date of 7th May 1990 and chassis ending 7721, so your car is just slightly older Derek, although very close in age! The paint code is probably buried under wires but should be there inside the front wheel arch. The low mileage is typical for these old V6 and she is hardly run in! Regards, Matthew T.

I see the car was first registered in Newcastle Derek and obviously sat around for a little longer than mine, which started life in London and got a 'G'! Regards. Matthew T.

The first owner was a solicitor in Newcastle, so that makes sense Matthew.
I think the V6 SEi was quite an expensive car for its time, so it probably sat around until someone could afford it?

I am sure cost was a factor Derek, together with the relative quirkiness of the car and early teething troubles. I have the original receipt for my rhd 24v and the price was a heady £28,500, more than the list price I think, while the owner was a doctor in Edinburgh. By contrast a former client of mine had an early 24v that apparently sat in a garage for more than a year unsold, which was then bought with a £10,000 discount! I think Citroen main dealerships was also very poor in marketing the car and at giving support once sold. Regards, Matthew T.

Same with ours. Sat new and unsold from July 1996 until December 1998, and then bought by us with £9000 knocked off list. The dealer was actually quite surprised when we were interested in buying it: hardly the hard sell!
