He's gotten back to me, it's a fuel injector problem. I can't afford to keep paying £4.60 a day for the bus! Does anyone know where the best place in the West Midlands is to get fuel injectors please? Need them quick too as I say I don't want to spend on bus fare just to get to and from work each day.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks.

What's up with then? Can they just be cleaned to bring them back to spec? I mean taken out and properly ultrasonically cleaned too, not pouring stuff in the tank?

I had mine cleaned on my old Volvo and it made a huge difference to the way it drove and idled. Previously it was lumpy at idle and had poor pick up unless you were flat out. I used injectortune.co.uk. I looked at their website and the rate is £17/injector for mechanical diesel ones.

Did the same with ours - €70 for the set of four, stripped, cleaned, recalibrated.
Was done at a Bosch/Delphi diesel specialist. Google your nearest.
Bosch International centres have a good reputation.

Any diesel specialist will be able to recondition the injectors, but unless they are eiather leaking or causing copious black smoke they are unlikely to need reconditioning.

SFAIK it is recommended to have injectors checked/serviced every 60,000 miles, even in normal service.
Leaking or smoke may not be evident, but spray pattern can deteriorate with effects on starting, fuel consumption and emissions.
Well worth having done.

By diagnosis I mean that I didn't know what was wrong so I took it to my mates garage so he could find out what was up with it, he's told me today that its a fuel injection problem, I'll either need to buy or refurbish. Anyone know a good place that sells or refurbs fuel injectors in or around the West Midlands please?

Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Sorry, I don't know anywhere to recommend, but if you post to injectortune, they'll be in work a day later. A quick Google of 'fuel injection west midlands' turned up these guys http://midlandinjectors.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
