About to take delivery

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a 1998 2.5 white estate R151 OFL that Barry Annels at Bourne Citroen has had parked up for a long while and is getting roadworthy for me... I last had an Xm in about 2000 that was written off by a fool running into it when it was parked, in daylight. It was the Chief Accountants car from Sterling Motors, the Ipswich Citroen dealers at the time, a lovely green Vsx.

Hope to collect next week.

Hello Jon, and welcome to the forum.
That looks a splendid acquisition and a tad rare - 2.5, white, late, and estate - all a good combination in my book!
Look forward to reading some more detail when you have it to hand.

BTW, if you see Barry, can you ask him whether he was one-time Shalford Green Garage? If he was, he did good work on our then BX19RD when we lived nearby in Godalming.

Yes he was Shalford Green garage, that's when I met him, living in Godalming having bought a DS...

Small world - Barry did re-gassing of our BX. Always enjoyed a visit there: fabulous line-up of 2CV, H-van, C15, GS, CS, DS.... outside and along the Green. His expertise was well known.
Our XM was bought from nearby S.E.Thomas (Freeborn), and company ZX and Xantia serviced there. A great family outfit. I think Barry was ex-S.E.T. too. Always found John in Parts hugely helpful; less so his lady boss.

Welcome John. Good to see another 2.5 owner :) Never like estate too much, but yours in that white colour looks really good !

Finally collected yesterday, lovely to drive. Fresh MOT, service, cambelts.

Needs a good T-cut and polish next.

It is missing the driver's handbook, would be good to get one.

The big issue is that the dipped beam lights are awful. I ended up staying on full beam and no one complained. Barry did put together the best headlamps he could... I've ordered some Philips Xtreme Vision...

Partner approves, apart from lack of water bottle storage, but she has been driving a Berlingo..

The handbook you need is XM-GB-5007 (97MY) or XM-GB-5008 (98MY).
That year code is printed at the bottom centre of the outside back cover of the handbook.
I may have a spare original but they are all away in storage for the present.
I have scanned copy.
