Further update on the n/s outer rack gaiter. Thought I would try my local dealer NT Shaw on the offchance and they are still available at a cost of £14.72, so ordered one and it should be here Weds. Parts man said they still have a few XM parts in stock, I'll see if they'll do a deal to clear whatever's left.

That gaiter price is way below any of the sellers marketing old stock parts.
Please update us on their stock items.
I was led to believe NT Shaw cleared all their Xm parts years ago.

As your car exists on the Dvla lookup, V65 was the correct form to apply with.
You should have received your V5 by now.

I called again this morning and spoke to Edward on the parts desk. Apparently they have some items in stock but don't have a list as such, he suggested emailing part numbers required and he will have a look (parts@ntshawlouth.citroen.co.uk).

Not sure if they do mail order, I might be able to help with collecting / posting things if not.

Just as a follow up to the previous posts I had a good chat with Ed at N T Shaw last week. Apparently they have the space to keep some old stock particularly for XM and BX models.

This includes a good quantity of spheres, unfortunately none suitable for my car though. The inner nearside rack gaiter is also still available to order for around £16. Having fitted a neoprene one I can see it gets very bunched up on full lock. Should have gone there first!

You will have your chance in a couple of years as that's how long the neoprene ones last before falling apart.

I'm pleased to hear that, not a job I would want to repeat in a hurry.

Genuine inner track rod end cover is now fitted. The pattern one was a complete waste of time as it wouldn't sit properly and kept slipping around.

Trying to work out what goes where with the front panel wiring.

I've sourced another front panel and on this the loom is routed along the bottom edge (see first photo). Conversely the loom on the car is clipped to the front crossmember of the subframe and I'm not sure which is the correct way. I suppose it doesn't matter as long as the wires aren't trapped or stretched but want it to be right!
(I have removed the loom from the donor panel now).

Adding to the confusion there's also a radiator hose there which looks like it should be attached to something and not just flapping around? This has a couple of socketed clips attached but I can't see what they connect to.

front panel wiring looms on the fan housing sould be all attached to the fan housing. the idea being once connecting plugs at each end side and earth's and bonnet release were detached the whole front came off as one peice without the worry of threading or needing to unclip cables.

The loom should be mounted inside the relief of the grp front panel, the white plug dangling in the headlamp recess of the front panel is the headlamp unit plug.
The small hose in the car should be attached to the gearbox oil cooler on the n/s and the o/a of the radiator.

Thanks fellas I didn't think it looked right. Would the loom usually have plugs for front fogs even if not fitted? Seems to have a couple of spare ones.
