Thanks Dieselman, it's better seen from a distance!

Could really do with a front end respray once I've sorted the mechanical bits and used it a bit.

Have a look at this and see what you think, I am reasonably sure it is from my 2.0i auto but if you can compare it with what you have and confirm, if you need more photos just let me know.

Many thanks
Dean

What is the length of that pipe?
The one for the 2.0 auto is unique.

Trying to compare the 2 pipes one on the car the other from photos is proving difficult! From what I can make out it is just the gearbox end that is different between auto and manual. I found a photo on your thread Dean showing the newly installed PRV lump and the regulator set up looks the same as mine below.

I'm fairly sure it is right but if you are able to measure it as well that would be much appreciated.

The PRV looks the same indeed, but as i found out ALL of the pipes are different, the Autobox on the PRV has a much longer bell housing and so the FDV and PRV are mounted differently in relation to each other than on the 2.0 cars.

I will measure it up and get some more photo's for you over the weekend.

I've refitted the front end panels but the offside wing isn't sitting right.

The o/s inner wing was damaged (pushed down) when it was written off and it has obviously been straightened out and pulled back up. It still looks too low though and the inner / outer wing and front panel bolts need a lot of persuasion to line up.

Am I right in taking the front panel and nose cone as a fixed reference point (vertically), so it can only be the inner wing that is out. You can see the front wing is getting pulled down by the inner wing. On the plus side the bonnet sits squarely on the front panel and latches / releases no problem.

Any further thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.

The front panel is indeed rectangular end should give alignment.

Measure diagonally from the scuttle to the front of each inner wing and also across the front of the car with the front panel removed and down to the bottom of the A pillar.

You might need to be creative as to how to raise the inner wing, or send it in to be jigged.

I've measured along the top of the wing and both sides are the same within a couple of mm. The tricky bit is finding 2 fixed reference points to work from, but measuring from the A post diagonally up is a good idea.

I've got an engine crane so could probably rig something up using the captive bolts for the front panel. It will be going for paint eventually so the jig would still be an option if I can't sort it.

Not a great shot but you can see it's a bit mangled.
