Well the first hurdle that I should have noticed is that one of the A/C pipes doesn't seem to have any join at the bulkhead, the one to the receiver drier is jointed with a compression fitting but the larger pipe directly from the pump to the bulkhead and beyond is one piece which is interesting and possibly problematic.

There is a bracket welded to the subframe where the new torsional engine mount is to go for the V6 but it has no use so I will need to cut that off, the brake line to the O/S/F wheel is also routed completely differently but that's not a problem, if it needs swapping I will swap it.

Hopefully by tonight the engine will be ready to lift out and I will lift it on Saturday afternoon.

Cant remember If I told you dean V6 air con pipes route a different way to 2.0 ones...

It comes out the compressor, drops down the top of the head, goes left, round and down the underside of the drivers chassis leg and down into the RIGHT side of the air con rad, then out the left side to the dryer into the evaporator, and then the U loop pipe from the Evap to the other compressor port..

Ill have an R12 set here no doubt when I come across them. Yogs original set will be here some where!

Will that front right lower engine steady mount bolt to the 2.0i subframe?? Or will you need to swap subframes too??

Not toooo worried about the A/C for the moment, getting the hydraulics to pipe up is proving tricky if im honest.

The 2.0i pressure reg , FDV and pipework will swap between engines but because the bell housing is longer on the V6 gearbox the Pressure regulator and FDV are mounted further apart than on the 2.0i, so did citroen alter the FDV bracket to move the FDV closer to the regulator and use all the same pipes? NO! they used the same bracket as the 2.0i does, mounted the components further apart and changed ALL the hydraulic pipework and lost about 2" of space in front of the engine..........................they were nuts, and they have anoyed me now.......

Need to find a V6 pressure reg to FDV flexi pipe too now as YOGs is rusty and the one that was on the rebuilt engine is mangled and they are different to miss the exhaust manifold of the V6 engine.

Ive set the hydraulics to one side for a minute as i have other things to concentrate on like getting the engine in and getting it running first, i think i will need a complete set of V6 spec pipes to mate the pressure regulater to the FDV and possibly the FDV to the car, still dont understand why Citroen done that, its just pointless differences that i hope do not become the theme for this conversion!

Anyway, progress has been made today in a slightly forward direction, The engine is out.

And nearly ready for its new home, i will be keeping it for a while in case i have a change of heart but its going off to be stored with the other large spare parts
ImageIMG_3227 by Deanxm, on Flickr
There were M.O.T issues to sort but i was let off in light of the situation i was in thankfully, these were the issues, and yes this is the N/S rack gaiter!

ImageIMG_3228 by Deanxm, on Flickr
This was a right sod of a job with the engine out but still much easier than doing it with the engine in the car, i also fitted a new PAS ram with a new rubber boot just because i had it on the shelf and i would rather it was done now than have to do it shortly after wedging the V in there, after the rack work was done and before the engine bay clean
ImageIMG_3225 by Deanxm, on Flickr
Still a lot of de-greasing to do but at least i found all those long lost nuts and bolts from yers gone by.

Here is a good one, a shot of the 2.0i downpipe flange and OE 3.0 V6 downpipe flange, its a bit interesting
ImageIMG_3222 by Deanxm, on Flickr

And look at the inside of this downpipe from the 2.0i engine, nearly 3000 miles of use on that and it is as clean as the day it was made, that engine is/was running so well

I have a video of the Prestige's final drive back from the MOT station to home with good audio i was going to uplaod to Youtube as it did sound nice but i cant get it to uplaod from the iphone for some reason, gives up 3hrs into the upload but i will crack it and post.
