Re: xm exclusive auto n reg, black
That is a very sad outcome indeed and clearly someone would have given the car a good home! With regards, Matthew T.

Re: xm exclusive auto n reg, black
If this car wasn't a basket case, which it doesn't seem to be from the pics, then scrapping this car was highly irresponsible and this guy needs a bit of a talking to. He also needs a lesson on managing emails better as has already been said, he was offered a lot more than he got for scrapping it, and I'm sure he could have got much more than that. Sorry to say, but what a dick!

Re: xm exclusive auto n reg, black
Stan seems to have eventually woken up the armchair must save every XM tyre kickers.
He said it had to go.
He said he did not have time to fix it, work was more urgent.
He explained its history and it seemed a good XM.
I suspect he expected offers to collect and take it away.
In the first ten days all he got was to be told that it was an easy fix, something he already knew and did not have time for.
Some of the more recent posts have got a bit heated.
It is not acceptable to abuse people on here whatever they may have done.
Review and edit please.

I remember when my Xantia was advertised on FCF last year; plenty of posts telling me I couldn't scrap it. There's nothing wrong with it, it won't take much to fettle, and it's black. And they were right, but the reality was they wanted me to save a car I didn't want so it made them feel better. I received two enquiries about it, both prominent on FCF, both with promises galore, both with definite intentions . . . and both with a list of excuses when they finally decided they didn't want it!
Then when I scrapped it I suddenly became the devil incarnate. How could I, how dare I, the list of reasons they had to save it and the list of excuses they had why it couldn't be them were equally as long.
Seems like the same has happened here. Stan made it plain he didn't want to save it, gave everyone interested ample time to make sure it was saved, and then when he scrapped it the self-righteous come out in force to tell him how selfish he's been.

Re: xm exclusive auto n reg, black
This has all become over-blown.
There wan't abuse of any kind, so far as I can make out, just a bit of dismay and regret - especially given the time scale.
I removed my completely innocuous post, as requested.
Not the end of the world, of course.
