Spotted in Oxfordshire scrapper

Over on facebook this scarse girl has appeared in an Oxfordshire scrap yard..

Dvla mot check shows her a diesel.. with 81k on last mot which has just expired oct 2017 with no advisories..

Anyone near to investigate closer?? Tax check cannot find the car so im guessing a scrap age trade in last october and now been processed..

87k miles seems incredibly low mileage to be scrapping an XM, especially one with good MOT history.

Couldnt agree more will... the yard was mentioned on the fb post but it seems a couple may go in and raid the car

Low miles could be because it was and island car, may well be fairly rust free if so.

There is no mention of corrosion , or any significant issue, on any MOT.

Bizzare that it should be scrapped.

Bet you its been scrap exchanged for a hyundai or kia... thats the only reason i can think and the owner got scared off by all this diesel is bad hype

That scrap yard isn't a vehicle dismantler, but there may be a chance they would allow parts to be removed, or even sell the complete car.

On the basis that it isn't crash damaged and written off Cat B (can't see the front or o/s), there is nothing to stop it going back on the road. Looks like the roof would need some work.

The unmarked diesel I rescued from a scrap yard had been sent there because the heater matrix had gone. Good job I showed up when I did!
