2.0 16v N958KFG for sale but be quick

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

I thought the seller name looked familiar.
Im not sure it was the 16v directly that suffered piston slap, i think this 16v engine had the cast iron XU block with a 16v head fitted although there are other changes obviously.
The XU10 petrol engine suffered piston slap in the early years of XM production from what i remember but wasn't aware the later 16v suffered.

Yep. known problem. All that efficiency comes at a price, light mass and low friction = high wear and lack of piston control.

Not quite Will, although I was quite impressed by the experience of driving Ray's car! I think the early V6 is unequaled for character and performance and for me remains the ultimate XM power plant! With regards, Matthew T.

I believe (again could be wrong) that the engines were modified to cure the problem but there was no recall and affected engines were dealt with on a case by case basis.

Are you back now Matthew?

I seem to recall that early on the PRV V6 pistons were also modified by an increase in length.
