Hi. Could anyone tell me if there is a Spanish law that prohibits the export of "classic" cars please?
I'm sure that I read somewhere that such a law did exist at some point in the past but I would have thought that EU membership would have forced an end to it. Does it still exist?
I ask because I'm wondering why this DS would be so cheap;
http://ciudadvalencia.anundos.com/citro ... as-271802/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I mean it looks very tidy, the description makes it sound good, yet EU 5 000 is the price I would expect to pay for one needing quite a bit of work, even if a runner. Surely this would be a £10-20 000 car in the UK, even in LHD?
What am I missing here?
Cheers, LG.

I have done a google search for such a prohibitive law, and found nothing.
Cars, classic and otherwise, come into and leave Spain all the time.
Agree that such a prohibition unlikely under EU rules.
Can I suggest you contact this guy - he deals with all our tax affairs, and specialises in vehicle import/export paperwork...

No, there is no such law. You can export any vehicle.

Cheers Guys. There is obviously something very, very fishy about that site. I mean, did anyone notice some of the other cars on there? How about a nice looking AM DB6, EU11 000, or how about a BMW 507, a bit pricey, maybe, at EU15 000. Until you learn that 507s go for up to £1 500 000! (and DB6s for up to £200 000!)
I don't know what the scam is. Do they expect some sucker to send a deposit for a car that probably doesn't even exist?
Mind you, this probably does and also seems like quite a bargain;

Added a pic in case the listing disappears.
Not perfect and missing some trim but still looks cheap.
LG.

Re: Calling all Spanish/Spanish resident members.
I can't vouch for this one but a rather common form of scan is a low price making someone itching not to miss the deal of a lifetime. In the end, it always comes to a cost that needs to be covered, something with transport, exportation, whatever. Just a grand and you'll have the dream of your life for peanuts. And nothing in the end, of course.
I read about one where the scam artists went to such lengths as to create a fake website for a clinic and a Wiki page for the non-existing director professor who was described as the seller.
Do a quick Google image search for the picture, that's always good as a first step.
