The oil haze doesn't sound too good, like spraying a fine mist or it is dripping?

Well done sir, at least its mobile again.

Hopefully so. Front strut return pipes, and rubber elbows on nylon return pipes, are favourite leakers with age.
As you say, a white sheet or cardboard underneath should tell you where it's coming from, and what colour it is.

It seemed to be on just one side near the wheel. Just been out to the car it's pitch black here but all dash lights and front lights are working rear lights are ok but one break light out!! One thing that is a pain is the LCD display to the right of the steering wheel has started to bleed out. Can you get these and if so are they easy to relace?

You may find a forum member who has one to sell if you post in the wanted section, is it just a clock or do you have the trip computer function too?

I think it has trip as well as clock but I can check in the morning mate. Are they usually expensive and hard to fit?

They are tricky to find on the open market yes, not sure about price as i don't recall seeing one for sale but wouldn't have thought they are horrific, just trying to find one and getting the correct one, i am sure a repair of the display is possible. Getting to it is a little fiddly as the instrument cluster cowl needs to be removed (two screws) and the warning light facia (lots of screws) plus the steering column shroud i think.
Here is a link to a post made about R/H display types
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8867&p=107861&hili ... ay#p107861" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not sure if this is the correct one or is, in fact, the left display but price doesn't seem silly https://www.ebay.ie/itm/Dashboard-Radio ... SwVF1aRX1i" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
French and german ebay is the place to look nodays really.

Post up in the wanted section of this forum when you know which type you have and keep scanning German/French eBay, something will turn up.
