Tried to take the oil cooler off today but seems none of my sockets are the right size
Do anyone know what size the central bolt is

Something I’ve forgot to mention when I got my new oil etc they gave me a oil filter half the height as the one that’s on it
Is this ok or do I need the full height one

Unfortunately I cannot remember the oil cooler nut size Ben but I normally use an adjustable spanner. There is not much purchase on the nut as I recall and there is also the tap washer to address. The oil filters are indeed now much smaller and I have not seen the large size in a good long while. With regards, Matthew T.

I did try an adjustable but it kept slipping off hopefully a friend that live up the road have got a socket the right size
Far as I can tell it’s somewhere between 26-29mm I have neither spanner nor socket between these sizes

And this tab washer I assume it’s a case Of just pushing the tab off the nut and undoing it which I’ve done

Ok so long filters are no longer avaliable then just wasn’t sure if the short one they give be would be enough

Current filters from OE Purflux and other manufacturers are much smaller than the originals. This runs across several models.
The nut I have here is 27mm.
The small nut/stud engages in a small tab on the cooler body, to prevent rotation of the unit when the filter is changed. It's not a major fixing.

I would watch the gaiters as they cannot be suitable for all XM driveshafts, there are two different driveshaft diameters

The rear pads look fine, the image is wrong but it looks like a stock image so no worries and the discs are all correct too

The front pads should be correct and are the right year for the 283mm discs however the image does not show Citroen XM pads to suit 283mm discs, not sure what they are, could just be a stock image but the correct pads should have stubby rounded locating tabs and not those long stepped ones.

Good luck

If that is a photo of the actual pads then they are totally wrong for any XM.
Will check and the add details of the correct item.
