Re: sageman's 'barn find' v6 sei s1
had a look with the engine running and couldnt see any sparks leaking although could faintly see the HT leads glowing in places but got no shock off them will be putting new leads there anyway but apart from that i dont know
i came to the car this morning to find it haddnt sunk all the way down before it would be flat in a matter of hours i did read this should be the case with the new pressure regulator but its nice to see it happen means theres no other problems on that side of things touch wood
i did get the horn working although had to sacrifice the passenger side 3pin plug due to the wires rotting through so only have the drivers side now something to fix while the bumper is off i think (better accsess)
interior lights seem to be working better and better as the days pass now in fact they worked fine today apart from they diddnt recignise the drivers door open i would put it down to the door switch but the LCD tells me its open so its not that
im booking an MOT tomorrow (dont know when it will go in for it)
i know theres a few small things it will fail on but i want to see if theres any big things need doing (ive not noticed anything) wouldnt have mattered a few weeks ago but lost my job 2 weeks ago so while im looking for more work i dont want to spend money there when its better going elsewhere on the car

Eh a normal speed hump out in the Norfolk countryside ever wonder why they’re popular here
It’s funny I’ve lived in that house for getting on for 19 years the vast majority of my life but I’ve never thought of taking a picture of any of my cars there always on the driveway despite knowing full well the rarther lovly view
We’re moving soon so best I take more of my other cars

Re: sageman's 'barn find' v6 sei s1
It has failed as I knew it would however it’s not bad at all
Engine idle speed too high due to the problems sourounding the ICV I suspect
What’s the next step here
Battery insecure due to a broken battery box bolts to clamp it down missing
Can anyone help me here
Rotten backbox leaking exsaust gasses
Alredy got a quote to fix
Hydrolic return leaking near side front
wasn’t leaking before must have come off when I went up there
Rodent damaged connector next to off Side suspension as descussed earlia in the thread could cause short
Steering rack gator
Parking brake isn’t working well on one wheel
my mechanic told me it needs to be used and it should free up seems that’s not the case
One of the tyres failed
So nothing really major at all and he said rot wise it was fine (although I understand these can rot from the inside I hope mine isn’t)

Re: sageman's 'barn find' v6 sei s1
This is good news, well done on a not so bad result. All very easy apart from your idle mystery.
I had a quick read through your posts and you seem to have a working ICV. It is controlled by the TPV (throttle position sensor). Can you hear that click when you move the throttle just a tiny bit?

The TPS/V? does however move
I disconnected it once and it brought up a light on the dash

On reflection, I think (from reading Dean's postings about his PRV-24 it's pretty clear actually!) that your car might have a resistance based TPS rather than just switch based one. Just ignore me, and see what someone else says!

Re: sageman's 'barn find' v6 sei s1
I’m not sure where else there could be a vacuum leak the pipe work for the ICV is fine and I’m not sure that could explain the eratic idle
Revs up and down methodically like the ICV is opening and closing and cant find where it should be

You're probably on to something there mate: I'd want to try a replacement to rule that out too

Re: sageman's 'barn find' v6 sei s1
Ok small progress on the ICV
The reving caused by the ICV seems to be a bad wire ICV end move the wires a bit and the idle settles down fine
However when the throttle is blipped a bit say to 2k rpm the car comes down to 1500 stops then down to 1200 stops then settles down to just over 1k
