Mike and I have done a good few replies to Rex on FCF, after his first posts and search for a car.
Have replied today on the items above (warning lights, dash, displays) there.
To save duplication, I'll stick to here, not least because queries are pure XM, and an obvious need for all the usual solutions*.

*Except the cracked dash, that is, which is evidence of out-and-out hamfistedness. :o :o

I can find a spare unbroken Mk 2 dash panel if required.

Removal of the complete fascia is necessary to remove the LH and RH displays.
Now, I wouldn't say that. :-) OK, first time around, maybe it's safer that way but really not needed.

Saraphi,

the don't all light up in the middle on startup, so this is not a problem in itself. And if you have some that won't light up, that's easy to rectify, these are separate, old style light bulbs in sockets. You just remove the center unit when you have everything else disassembled, and replace all bulbs with new ones, no matter whether they work now or not.

Gábor

The fascia (front panel containing the long row of switches and AC controls) has to come out (or at least brought out) to access and remove the LH and RH displays.

I did reproduce full details of dash warning lights (from Owner's Handbook), and a list of those which would show up with IGN on, on FCF.
Am trying now not to split answers across the two forums, because it just gets confusing. Much easier here, with all the expertise available. ;)

Chris, I don't know if it's any different on RHD, but wait, you also drive LHD. This is how I always do it, and with all the LED replacements, I did remove it more than I care to admit. :-)

- fish out the blind or warning LED cover at the end of the switch row
- remove the screw behind
- remove the small panel between the air vents
- pull the steering wheel towards you
- remove the covers and the screws behind
- ease off the centre panel, clip on the left end
- remove the air vent/instrument panel shroud screws, including the one just revealed under the centre fascia
- remove the instrument panel shroud

That's all. I can remove any of the units then: LH, RH clock/trip just snap into place. You have to know how to unsnap them, sure, that's why I said it had to be easier to do it with full removal the first time around, but it can be done. You can even remove the centre warning light unit if you know where the screws are, but this is a bit more tricky.

Actually, I have pictures, too, at: http://citroen.tramontana.co.hu/en/elec ... hd-display

Hi Gabor,
.
Dash fascia 8212.AC.JPG
.
Items 5 and 9 (and the vent control cover 10) are what I usually remove to get access to the displays etc.
I think it's the same as your procedure.
