Citroen Centenary celebration, Coombe Park

Post by JK99 » Wed May 15, 2019 8:19 pm

I managed to get a ticket for it. The most enjoyable part will be the drive , from Coombe Park, to Coventry and around some of its streets , of a convoy of 1000 Citroens. At least , that is the number the organisers are hoping to get.

I assume we will be driving in groups of models, and not just higgledy piggledy.

Mine is an 2.5TD XM Estate, magenta (or mandarin) colour. Our group of estates will be very small, I think.

So I will see some of you there.

If you don't know how to get a ticket, simply go to: www.citroencentenary.org.uk

This looks to be a stunning set of venues for the event, and I really regret I cannot be there.
Look forward to all the photos from everyone, not least in the cathedral!
Should be something special.

I'm hoping to go straight from having my exhaust done to the centenary event in my XM :)

£20 for a day ticket seems a bit steep to me. It used to be about £5 to get into a CCC event a few years ago, and this is four times that. Its a very nice venue but I can’t help thinking if they wanted to be sure 1000 Citroen’s will turn up the best tactic would be to keep the entry ticket cost down.

Completely agree Marc. The CCC proving yet again how woefully out of touch it is with the ordinary member.

I managed to book in advance and catch the discount rate that I think is about £30 for the long weekend including camping so quite good value actually. I should be there in my 1989 V6 and I certainly hope we get a strong showing of XM in the 30th anniversary year! Regards, Matthew T.

It will be good to see you Paul and we really must do something for the 30th birthday! Perhaps we could form a little gathering at Coombe Park and I shall be happy to bake a cake as for the 25th. With regards, Matthew T.
