And they do thrive on regular use, both electrics and hydraulics.
Ours has crossed Europe a good few times, often 500 miles in a day.
A car you can just get out of with no aches, pains or fatigue.

Absolutely. It puts every modern car I've been in or driven to shame.

I asked in your other topic, but maybe you missed it. Did the exhaust fit first time from their pattern, or did it require fettling on the car?

I may need to get one sent to France one day, but not for a while yet, as the exhaust on my car does not have any holes or patches yet. I now suspect that it was replaced before my ownership.

I thought they built the exhaust once the car was on the ramp. Possibly they had already made the silencers, but the pipework was all fabricated as they fitted it.

Goffy usually buy in an O.E. part, and copy it faithfully in stainless.
Years ago, I got a Dolomite 1850 complete system from them. They hadn't made one of these before, but bought in a "pattern" and copied. The finished system was couriered to me, and I fitted it myself. The fit was perfect.
I'm sure they do often have to tweak on-car for systems they don't make regularly, but the three systems I've had from them (P6, P6B, Dolomite) all fitted out of the packet.

I believe David told me that they took an original exhaust that they cut open to study how it was made and copied it.

Sorry gents,

It's been a hectic week since I've been home!

Gough's have a Citroen original exhaust that the flanges rotted out on when they were on a customers car. They have cut the sides off the boxes so that they can mirror the internals of the stainless one to the original parts.

When I arrived they'd started to make the boxes but hadn't started the pipe, the pipework was fabricated whist they had the car. I went for a wander so can't really comment on the fit of it unfortunately. It's all fitted nicely now though and runs nice and square under the car.

I'm very impressed with them to be honest. I need an exhaust for my P38 just now and finding a mild steel one that actually fits is difficult. If the MOT hadn't of expired I'd take it to them and have a weekend away at the same time. From the outside the place doesn't look much but the workmanship is superb.

Erm... there's a lot going on.

I ended up parked in front of the transport museum so we were quite a long way from the rest of it. I did go for a wander but ended up soaked as it was chucking it down.

Overall I thought it was ok, if the weather hadn't of been shit I'd have probably explored more and found more to do though. I enjoyed the transport museum though.

The transport museum is quite good.
It's quite ambitious to have a car event that big. Quite a good idea, but I can imagine trudging round the whole city centre in the wet is not my idea of fun.
