Re: How many left
So there is still more Xm in UK then total UK c6 sales..
Wasn't there just over 600,000 c6 total sold in UK.. Or was that total production..

Re: How many left
From the C6 website
"Owning a Citroën C6 makes one part of a fairly exclusive group as only 23,384 in all variants were ever built, in the same factory in Rennes, France, where Citroën also built the XM.
UK DVLA Statistics for August 2012 showed a total of 1,014 C6's had actually been registered for use in the UK, with only 36 of those being fitted with the newer 3.0 HDi engine (one has been 'written off' in an accident and broken for parts, more are known to have been 'exported' leaving circa 20 of those left in the UK) and with more cars since going the same way, it means there are now less than 518 Right Hand Drive C6's still registered and licensed for VED in the UK (with around another 139 on 'SORN' as of September 2019), so it's rare to see one on the road. It used to compete in a tough sector of the market for sales amongst the 'Badge Conscious' car buying public and only Citroën enthusiasts see the real potential in the car."

Quite. C5 III (X7) seems to be in that category too.

Re: How many left
I missed Eddie's comment Chris and thought you were referring to number of C5 X7s.. But yea the X7s are a failure car. Seem more expensive to fix then Mk. 1 and mk. 1 facelift..

Re: How many left
I drove a C6 auto very briefly, and found it dark (it was a black interior) and really claustrophobic. Wasn't long enough to comment on the ride. By contrast, XM is spacious, light and airy, with plenty of glass, with some owners who have had both reporting that XM gave the better ride.
Having read (like you) years of tales of woe about C5 III X7 --- including rusting and leaking steering racks, splitting hydraulic tanks, inability to tolerate in-situ battery charging/disconnection/voltage drop without a BSI reset procedure, wipers with a motor each not sync'ing, front struts leaking and unserviceable, an electric hydraulic pump that floods itself with fluid and then destructs, and such extensive fault states that are only amenable to diagnostic investigation --- I can honestly say it is a car I would not want to own. At least it didn't get fitted with the disastrous EGS gearbox, whose electro-hydraulic actuators fail, and cost a couple of grand to replace.

Re: How many left
Don't forget wi Dow regulator cables break too..
The mk. 1 c5 and facelift never seem to break a single regulator... Never burn a wiper motor out.. Unfortunally they do follow tradition and wear rear arm bearings and caliper alloy corrosion but after bx and xantias we should be used to that.. The Xm never did the latter as it was alloy caliper on alloy arm..
