It gives me great sadness.. Update 2023

Post by citroenxm » Sat Aug 29, 2020 6:56 am

I shall be lieing low for some time.

Very recently in the last three months I developed chronic lower back pain. However the pain got worse and worse.. and then affected my legs. Visits to hospital a and e found nothing and nerve ending damage was assumed. However I continued to detirate. Over the course of three months. I got to the point of being bed bound.

Finally I managed to get a spinal consultation and an MRI scan the discover of a spinal tumour was found and had started to destroy one of my discs in L4 lumbar.

In short a speedy delivery to liverpool walton centre had me a serious spinal operation with pins and rods to strengthen my back up. I was days away from permanent paralysed..

The discovery of blood cell cancer has been found in me. Currently now my life is upside down. I'm still just starting to walk again and now have a long road of chemo and radio therapy to fight with now.

I've come to terms with this. But of course everything is on stop. I'll be back once I can face up to the task once again of knowing if I can do my xm up.. or have to pack it all in completely. Ive been told none strengthening treatment could take up to 2 years.

2020 hasn't been kind to a lot of people. But this in a million years we never expected. To be knocked off my world is to say the least.

Best wishes.
Pail.

Oh gosh, Paul, so sorry to hear your news.
Look after yourself as best you can, and hopefully the treatments and ops will make headway.
Just let others do the work, and stay hopeful and positive.
XMs get a lot of practice resting from time to time - so your turn now!
Best wishes,
C.

Very sorry to hear that Paul, especially for an active man like you, I wish you a speedy recovery. What would we do without the NHS I was diagnosed with prostate cancer about 3 years ago but after 7 weeks of radiotherapy and a couple of years to recover I'm fine now so hope you have a similar recovery experience.

So sorry to hear that. One day at a time and you'll eventually look back with an "I made it" smile on your face.

I'm really sorry to hear this Paul. It is obviously a lot to deal with but I am glad to hear that you have come to terms with it. Best of luck with your road to recovery, which hopefully has some hydropneumatics along the way
