Re: 3.0 V6-24 Project
When I acquired this car there were a number of blown fuses in the passenger foot-well...
As most of the immediate tasks to getting it running had been finished it was time to look at the interior electrics.
The radio had been forcibly removed from the console breaking the radio, the console and the wiring. Hat-trick...
The wires dangling at the back of the radio set were all ripped out of the connector. Some were +12v live.

The connector was broken, but I was able to de-pin one I had on a scrap loom and utillise that. Note the connection wiring.

After fititng a replacement console radio section and radio, I went through all the fuses and changed any blown ones and refitted the correct current rating ones. 30A were in abundance...
The sound wasn't great, due to somewhat tired speakers, so

became...

The aeriel had a bit of an issue having no electrical conductivity and also having been silicone'd in place. I have never previously seen a rusty XM roof.

After dealing with the rust an aeriel was fitted giving clear radio audio.
the original set was a Phillips, so I will look to install one...and also attempt to interface an MP3 player.
Due to the console having the electrically adjustable armrest it was a pain to remove and refit. However this then prompted me to look at wood, to be more precise, the wood dashboard and console trim, which had bleached by the sun and been water damaged when the car slumbered in the brambles.
The radio cover inside appeared to have survived unscathed due to staying dry and no direct sunlinght, so I used it as a comparison.

I waxed the rest of the wood. It could really do with stripping down, sanding, staining and sealing, but for now it has been tinted and waxed.

Re: 3.0 V6-24 Project
Wow.. What a read. I've just sat this morning and read the whole lot..
Couple of questions. When I first had my 24v it was great. Ran beautifully.. But the gearbox developed a crunch in 3rd n 4th iirc.. That prompted an engine out job. I was lucky back then when I got my car I was also given the original worn engine which still had the box attached. So I swapped boxes and cured the box issues. It will need to come out again now to solve a concrete clutch action. Anyway what then soon developed was a misfire through range.. But not all the time. Now I'm wondering would this be related to the lambda connections.. I'm so keen to get my car to my home now I've room so I can start looking at these things.. But the misfire is fairly annoying.
I know also I have loom issues as I need to use a jump wire from +ve battery to one of the relays on the front of the ecu box. Can't remember which one now..
Sterling work Will.. Still jealous of her being black.

Re: 3.0 V6-24 Project
For the misfire first read the codes and see what you have, then work your way through the normal items;
Compression, Spark quality (these engines seem good at covering with a single cylinder misfire), fuel pressure and leak back rate, induction leaks.
After all that try disconnectiong both Lambda sensors and see if things improve.
If you have either a Lexia, or scope, you can check the actual Lambda sensor outputs with the engine running in normal mode. If you only have a multi-meter, try metering the output and prodding the throttle position sensor, which will give a rich mixture and should send the Lambda sensor output to 0.9v
