Re: diagnostics
I just got parts for blink code reader from RS components so will make one myself.
Thanks

diagnostics
Hi
I am building my own blink tester to test for faults can not get lexia to work, I am sure I read somewhere to check 3 ecu fuses, does anyone know there numbers/location
Thanks
Tim

Re: diagnostics
RP7184 is a major change date for electrics.
The main fuse board had a major set of modifications.
Citroen had a habit of changing a few days early on some of the production lines.
Check your owners manual as one page has a picture of the fuse boards and a list of fuse functions.
Then check your fuse board against the picture.
The modified fuse board (7184 on) has an over length fuse in the centre spanning the position of two fuses.

Re: diagnostics
Fuses for what, to make the Lexia work, or the Blink Code reader?
Each Ecu has a diagnostic output line to the 30 pin socket.
The 30 pin socket also provides power and Gnd for diagnostic equipment to draw from, so those supplies are needed.
A Blink Code reader doesn't need power to be supplied from the 30 pin socket as it connects directly to the battery, or any other convenient supply.
Without checking, the fuses for the diagnostic socket are shown in the Owners Manual and Gabor's circuit diagram.
A quick check with a test lamp, or DMM, will reveal whether the appropriate pins have power/Gnd.

Re: diagnostics
OK, Built a blink tester only ecu it would read was suspension found faults but wouldn't clear them, looked up on internet and found a chap that exactly same problem could only see suspension ecu with same faults that wouldn't clear and could not see other ecu's, not sure if there is a problem suspension either seems drive ok. I was wondering if series 2 pin outs for blink codes are the same has anybody else had same problem and found a work round, might have to ask if I can meet up with someone local and see if their Lexia can get in.

Re: diagnostics
I think I posted some different diagrams of 30 pin sockets with pin allocations , think there were 3 variations during the XM build programme.
To get the Lexia 30 pin plugs to fit fully and make contact on a Mk 2 XM I found it necessary to remove the locking clip.
Not needed to use the Lexia in anger for quite a while.
A recent try gave me the similar problems to you so I have asked around to see if others now have problems.
Citroen changed the access for maintenance information to a paid system recently.

Re: diagnostics
Thanks for answering I think that it will be a bit of try and error and a bit more searching.

Re: diagnostics
Check the pin-outs for the 30 pin socket are correct for each Ecu by looking them up in Gabor's circuit diagrams and, if necessary, perform a continuity check back to the Ecu connector.
I recall the diagrams for 30 pin connectors are the plug in connector, not the socket, so are mirror image, i.e. The row is correct, but the pin numbers (1-3) are reversed.
When using a Blink Code reader try holding the button slightly longer than the stated 15s for reset.
Also, you can only reset after reading all the codes, not as a single operation.
Disconnecting the battery should reset all fault codes, as afaik, none of the Ecu have non-volatile memory.

Re: diagnostics
Gabor's diagrams only show 2.0 turbo, it shows same pin outs as I'm using tried connecting c3 marked as warning light not diagnostic tried putting down to earth that didn't work, also I do not appear to have any pin outs on rows B and D, I think my engine is later than that, as you say will disconnect battery clear the faults and try and forget about diagnostics for a while.
Thanks
