Repaired for now, I used cut down water hose and protected the joints from the turbo heat with exhaust head-shield cut to fit....this should do until I refurbish the lower thermostat housing and find a pipe/have one made.

That will be fine.
Diesel exhausts don't radiate anywhere near much heat as petrol ones.

Refilled the coolant system, purged it of air and ran it up to temp last night, left it till this morning and it seems to be fine.....time and a longer heat soak will tell. but I will for sure have full "recovery to home" cover on this car :)

I figured as much as there's no water cooling on derv like there is on Tct engines.

Water by-pass/matrix feeder pipes still dry

I still have "belt flap"...taking the advice of two very experienced Citroen specialists, I have ordered a slightly shorter belt = 1718 vrs 1726 that I have fitted atm.

Still sorting the finishing touches within the engine bay, these are now on their way (back in production) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/194289572219

they are indeed.......and printed with the correct type of ink on the correct backing sheet with suitable adhesive so they last and stick well.

Clean all surfaces very well with Acetone or IPA 2 or 3 times before applying, esp plastics as it can "absorb" oil/LHM

Headlamp washers now working without sticking up, but the right one seems to have a leak......looks like I will have it investigate that.

Getting ready for a steering rack boot replacement....it had a very small split and I had a spare on the shelf so I thought I would do it at the same time as replacing my aux-belt with a slightly shorter one to cure some "belt vibrations".

It is nice and clean in there so now is a good time to do it.

Also did another oil change, put some good oil in this time.

(I made a mess cutting the boot off 🙂 )

Fortunately, it is the drivers side boot that has gone, the passenger side has the power ram spigot in the way.
