Thanks!
I'll keep that in mind and would let you know if I'll need any motor spares.
So far, I am looking for minor electric and interior components.

Re: New member: 1996 V6
I’m afraid that it is somewhat bad news for you because leak that you described is typical first signs of failing seals inside the Diravi. Usually it starts leaking to right rack boot and after a while it starts leaking badly to left boot. Luckily you can order new sealing kit from CX-Basis (I include link below) but replacing them is pretty big job and depending of situation you can get away by just replacing seals but there is a chance that you need referb or make new piston and cylinder if they are corroded and scratched.m0rda wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 10:44 pmThis is very prudent - I am usually carrying only 1 litre bottle of LHM in the trunk
By the way, the MOT during the registration has only one comment: "Power steering ram has slight seeepage from a joint Offside". I wonder how bad/dangerous is that with Diravi?
There is few ways how you can do this job. You can do it without removing rack from the car but it is fairly difficult due to lack of space. Second option is to take Diravi off the car and replace seals but to get it off you need to: take exhaust off, disconnect pipes to front struts, lower the subframe 5mm from the front and 150mm from the back, etc, etc. I can try to make a “how to” for you if you want.

Perfectly written, great first post, welcome to the forum.Flegmaatikko wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 12:15 am

I did think it would be the Diravi rack leaking, which unlike the standard Pas rack which has a seperate ram on the outside of the rack unit, the Diravi is internal actually part of the rack itself, so any fluid leaking out has to be from that.
Hopefully new seals fixes it.
This is the third leaking Diravi rack we have had members post about in the last three months...and Rhd Xm don't have Diravi, so are not very common on this forum.
I would be interested in a write-up of stripping the Diravi down.
If the rack can't be repaired tecnosir are offering reconditioned ones.

I believe that Pleaides in Sawtry, Uk, would be able to deal with a leaking Diravi system, likewise any specialist that deals with Cx or Sm, likewise, though they may just send the rack to Pleaides.

Re: New member: 1996 V6
I wouldn't normally carry any spare LHM, but when a car is new to you it's worth carrying a bottle.
If the pipes are in good condition they won't rupture, deal with any leaks that you have. A split return pipe, will make a mess, but won't lose a significant quantity of fluid.
The only return that will lose a lot of fluid is the power steering return, same as any car with Pas.

That`s great to know that reconditioned racks are still around. The price of 585 Euro seems to be reasonable.
