Update from my mate Peter, things are moving on, all be it slowly. Thanks for the help guys👍

Peter’s Message:
Citroën now cranks off the key, it is a dodgy relay which I managed to coax back into life, but it will require replacing later, probably find this was it original fault as the old starting motor turns albeit noisily.
I sprayed a little easy start down the intake and it did fire but I didn't have enough in the can. I will drain the old stale fuel out and put in some fresh when I get the wheels back. So until then it is good progress and a step closer 🙂

The Fenix 3 Ecu cuts power to the ignition and fuel systems until it sees a starter signal, so the fact that the engine fires at all means the Ecu is triggering the ignition system at least and by default the fuel pump as well.

If it fails to fire with new fuel it will be either seized or burned out fuel pump.

Rather than a can of easy-start, or other flammable spray, just use petrol dribbled into the intake air stream as the fuel...cheaper and usually more readily available.

Your friend, Peter, is doing a great job and we are counting the days before this car is back on the road.

Thanks for this. Peter says the fuel pump is pumping fuel, he is certain it is working properly, so thats good news. I bet it's going to fire up with fresh fuel but we will see :D

Peter is doing a great job and I am very grateful to him. I wish I had been able to get on with the restoration up here but I don't think it would have been possible without the pro facilities Peter has, oh and his great knowledge. Without Peter, the car would still be sat in my garage, as it has been for 20 odd years. I can't wait to hear that the engine has started and is running well!!

The prv V6 in its last carnation (used since early 70s) us actually very good. I used a v6 12v auto on lpg for about 4 years and loved every second.. I had a v6 24v also but that sadly spent a lot less time on the road.. Costs more then anything.

Think that's russ Wallaces car. A 2.1td manual conversion

Russ is on here.. He also has rjw creative and has reproduced all the xm under bonnet stickers and car of the year sticker that the first G and H reg cars had in the rear hatch glass

It's a great looking car. It is my son's future Father-in-Law who spotted it, because he was aware of mine. Regarding stickers, mine still has the original stickers, including the car of the year on the back windscreen, I didn't realise that was a thing...

Hi again, a quick update on the V6. It’s not great news, as the alloys are not holding air. We had some second hand tyres fitted, in order to be able to move the car around and work on it. Unfortunately they only held air for about a day, which probably means the alloys have become porous. Has anyone else had this issue and do you know of any solutions? Cheers…Derek
