Re: 2.0 8V bottom end rebuild (by idiots)
I'm having pretty good luck finding the parts we need for this engine on Trodo.com, but there are a couple things they don't have.
Obvious one is rod bearings (!)
Less obvious one is the little seals along the side of the #1 and #5 main bearing caps. Any idea where to find these seals. Preferably somewhere that ships to the US.

I meant is bump_drft assisting. Getting ones fingers and nails dirty gives impetus to look after things better in future...eyesoreracing wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 12:51 amThe car actually belongs to @bump_drft, and I am the assistance. Poor bastard couldn't afford better help...

Those gearboxes suffer weak synchromesh and with high mileage/lack of oil, will suffer bearing wear, but not normally.
A single click per revolution has to be something worn, or chipped. Probably worth splitting the box and having a look.
In case you don't have the gearbox manual. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=10855
You're doing a good job so far, will soon be back up and running, pretty cheaply too.
You're not the only person to have rebuilt a 2.0i fairly recently and it's the most common Xm engine, so I would think parts should be available.
P/nos. are:
95650951 original number
0606 J5 repair number.
https://www.catcar.info/citroen/?lang=e ... I9PQ%3D%3D
Found some 0606J5 https://www.lyonparts.com.br/c/motor/br ... ra-xantia/
I would think an engine builder/machine workshop would be able to supply suitable bearing shells. If all else fails have yours re-metaled.
Also found some on Autodoc. https://www.autodoc.co.uk/kolbenschmidt/8167751
KOLBENSCHMIDT are pretty big on engine parts, so worth checking their catalogue.
There are others on Autodoc. https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/mai ... /31145-2-0
The bearing seals are P/no 0127 40, which should be readily available.

Thank you for that bearing seal part number, I wasn't having any luck finding that before!
These parts are easy to find on Autodoc, but they only ship to Europe. Also found them on Cirtoenpartsdirect.co.uk, but they only ship within the UK. So we'll probably have Autodoc ship to my friend in Germany and have him ship the bearings to California.

I believe King bearings list them, they are US based.https://www.kingbearings.com/eyesoreracing wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 1:07 amI'm having pretty good luck finding the parts we need for this engine on Trodo.com, but there are a couple things they don't have.

You have the R in the wrong place in your link, you put "Cirtoenpartsdirect.co.uk" instead of "Citroenpartsdirect.co.uk"

Re: 2.0 8V bottom end rebuild (by idiots)
My wife and cat enjoyed (detested) this lovely piece of art in my front hallway for a bit, but it has since been placed back on top of the engine, and haphazardly dropped back into the car. What's left is mostly making sense of this rat's nest of wiring (someone clipped some wires and skipped the connectors it looks like).
