Hey Dieselman...yes you must be way up there

OK so I bit the bullet and purchased the Lexia Laptop/Ancillaries etc and today was my first attempt to talk to the old girl
After a few attempts actually managed to get a list of faults from her "as long as my arm" !!!
Not sure when all these date from but wanted a bit of advice on wether to clear all the faults and then fire her up for as long as she will run and then check for faults again....or attempt to work thru the list
I don't fully understand the "intermittent' Vs the "permanent" so will have to start at the creation of the universe
As always your thoughts are appreciated Obi 1

"Permanent" means that the fault condition is present at the time of reading.
"Temporary" means that the fault condition is not present at the time of testing (i.e. historical)

Record the faults shown, clear the lot, fire up the engine then scan for codes again.
Don't forget that low battery voltage will cause numerous faults to be recorded.
Once happy with your Lexia, please share details of the supplier.

Dieselman
Appreciate the info yet again

I will plug into her tomorrow and clear the lot then see if she will fire up and run the scan again
Will get a feel for the Lexia but first try appears to work
Will let you know how I get on
Have a good day

Hi Dieselman
Well I plugged into the old girl again and cleared all the faults ...am still trying to get the hang of this Lexia...so I will hold back on how good it is until I can fault test her again
Problem is she wont start....could do with a bit of advice on where to find the Crank Position Sensor as have a new one to fit....will slowly go thru all the things I can think of to see if I can get her up and running again
She cranks fine but coughs, splutters and backfires...sure she is getting fuel as smell from exhaust...probably unburnt
Anyway if you can shed a little light on the CPS I will get that done and see if she starts
Cheers
Paul
