the XM is an XM, and it should have its own dash! Much better and more Airy inside a S1...
Paul, I TOTALLY AGREE with you about the s1 Xm dash, more to the point the Xm CAME FIRST didn't it?
So then, the Xantia s1 (and s2) must've copied that! Certainly in '94 with the Xm s1 > s2 facelift, the
Xantia was still in sinker series 1 mode too!!

S1 xantia came out in '93 so was well into Xm S1 territory, so I would say the XM followed the Xantia interior, and to some degree the exterior for XM S2 cars.
Hmm, lets get this correct.. Yes the XM came first, so its the original, then the Xantia WAS moddled on the XM, but they then decided then to upgrade, or as us S1 XM pureists say, down grade the interior to look like the Xantia..
Then as Robert said (I think) above, the S2 Xantia dash then followed the XM S2 interior, and so like the Xsara dash is also a similar idea, and as far as the glove box goes the same as the Xantia, so in and out side they all see to have followed suit to each other.
At the end of the day, the S1 dash is the best, the Airiest, seems to be more spacious due to the low line.. and is my prefered interior and quirkyness..
Strange really, I accept the Dash of the Xantia (s1 or S2) as they are, but not the S2 dash in the XM..
