I bought myself a lexia a couple of weeks ago, but wish i hadnt!
I cant get it to talk to anything, neither the xantia or the xm will talk to it, just says no dialogue with ECU.
I had hoped that this would help with diagnosis, i do still ned to replace the front rigidity sphere and front spheres, although the banging seems to come more from the back of the car. No hydraulic warning lights come on so hydraulic pressure must be ok.
Im still not sure if my "air brakes" problem is related either.
Damn car too many problems and too little time.
So long as it passes its MOT in a week! if not its back to the xantia untill the disertations done!

Hi again Dave,with regard to the LEXIA, if you have the 30 pin PSA diagnostic connector ensure that the 12Vdc batt and switched 12Vdc are present,along with the ground(pins A1,A2,A3) and that the connector lock pulls them in tight.If all is ok then uninstall LEXIA and reinstall.The light i was referring to is the hydractive light that illuminates when you switch between modes.With ignition on this should illuminate for 3 seconds or so before going out.If it doesn't, but flashes for 10 seconds or whilst driving then a fault exists.If it fails to illuminate at all (other than when sport is selected) then faults are recorded in the memory and the system will remain in default (firm) and must be cleared using the diagnostic tool.If the light remains on permanently then the micro processor in the ecu is at fault

Bear in mind that you can have a hydraulic pressure problem causing hard suspension, without any warning lights, or noticible degredation of other systems.

The car may rise, brake, and steer perfectly fine, but the pressure regulator is no longer making sufficient pressure to hold the valves to the middle spheres open, then they may not open all the way, or even at all, regardless of whether the electrovalve is working fine.

Jorgy looked into this problem in depth when he had similar issues.

Personally, I recently changed my pressure reg for a reconditioned one, for the exact same reason.

Well i have driven many cars with non power steering that feel much more assisted than this one!
So i think there probably is a suspension fault, tomorow ill time how much it clicks on and off.
I appreciate all the advice, i will have to test the diagnostic socket to see if power is there.
If i can get the lexia working i might have a clearer idea of whats going on, i wonder if pleides would be able to tell iff the regulator is ok without removing it? as i am much closer to sawtry than i normally am!

Hi Dave,they do not have garage facilities but will certainly be able to sell you the pressure check kit which simply consists of a gauge, associated unions and pipes to fit yourself and check the cut in/cut out pressures - or a replacement PR.
