No of course not. But it's not a stinky tight-wad diesel either

I'd be getting 10 more mpg doing the same trip in my 2.1 TD auto. I wouldn't have as much time available to do the journey in the time that it would take Peter N, to try and achieve the same mpg as him!
But its not bad for a big petrol like that. I remember the 2.0 Si manual giving 35mpg blasting through Germany all day at 85mph. I once got 45mpg going at 60mph all day on a run from one end of Ireland to the other coming back from the boat when I collected the Si.

I have to agree that consumption is good for the size of the car. I'm not very often in a hurry which is why I get that fuel consumption and diesels are much more rewarding than petrols to being driven gently.

Go on Ciaran, I think you should get it.
Do a TD conversion, or use it as your daily hack, and keep the grey car as a classic.

Get it,
Forget about the series 1 for a while, and go back to it at your leisure.
Put the cost of this car into the prespective of what you want to do to your S1, and it soon makes sense to get it.

I dunno, domestic circumstances / storage aren't great at the moment.
I'd love it, I've wanted a TCT or a V6 for a while, but funds are limited....
Hmmm

I'll store your grey car, gratos for a while if you want!
Good candidate for a LPG conversion as well.
