OK Not an XM - but the next best thing!

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

OK Not an XM - but the next best thing!

Citroen BX TZD Turbo Diesel

A chap needs to sell his beloved BX, sadly due to bad back - and probably needing an auto.

I was tempted but have too much else on my plate, but take it from me guys this seems to be a rare opportunity to acquire the best BX from the best model year, in a stunning colour and condition.

His description:

Purchased with the demo mileage December 1991.
Current mileage: 119,500.
Tax to September 2010.
MOT to October 2010.

There have never been any running problems with this car. For the past 12 years she has been serviced by Martin at Pleiades, and Bill Thomas at Harpenden. Whatever has been deemed appropriate for renewal or replacement has been done on discovery.

The first clutch lasted to about 90,000 miles, and the original exhaust to about the same time.

Recent rust on the boot floor and in the engine compartment has the been removed, and the appropriate welding done.

Both front window runners have been replaced. All tyres (Dunlops I think - Phil) have done no more than 3000 miles, and a new battery went in last autumn. Ignition plugs were replaced for the first time a few months ago.
The car has never been in an accident, but has been professionally re-sprayed. And only an expert could see the joins.

The front upholstery has always been covered, and I regard the interior condition as excellent.

The Rev counter started sticking, or whatever, and I am not the person to remove the fascia and look for the right wire. (This will still need to be looked at but the symptoms, having discussed it with him, point to a poor connection behind the dials)

I have a box of bills that track the car's servicing since I bought it. I'm not a mechanic and I count myself fortunate that two very good people have done whatever was necessary for a very long time: the result is a car that runs well, has no known faults, and will certainly go on for a very long time.

I live in the Enfield area, with easy access to the A1/M25/M11. Anyone is welcome to visit, and drive and examine the car.
All things considered I think £800 is a reasonable price.

That is nice, we had a TZD estate that colour for a number of years, gave it to our son and someone drove into the back of it and wrote it off. Fantastic car, they go like a rocket, comes from Kent I see, that's where I came from.

This is a beauty. I love(d) these cars too. Drove BX for 7 years!
Only flaw with this model is the exhaust pipe kind of hanging limp out of the back. Anti-climax
