I can't answer your question, but recently ive been trying to source some parts for the Xm. Everyday things, it wants front discs, pads and parking brake cables. I got the pads fine, Valeo ones, but finding the discs and cables has been a little bit harder. I rang the usual place i get parts, Wida, but they could not source any from any of their suppliers. I have eventually got some coming through a small citroen parts specialist, although he said he had difficulties getting hold of them. He said he was worried that such common parts are becoming difficult to get. :?

I see there are a few of these items on ebay, but even so, its not good that main suppliers are finding it difficult to get such a common part.

Yup it scares me on what will happen 5 years down the road.

Even now, quite plenty of ZX parts are also no longer orderable such as the original wheel cap.

There are very often bargains to be had on ebay, I have had quite a few. If what you want is not there now, put in a saved search and you will be notified when it is.

If the original source is very limited or being stopped for sopme parts then the ebay items will dry up at one point.

We are well into the drying up period already.
Now long classified as obsolete our car spares are now officially ex factory stores only.
In the main this means residual stock only, normally no justification for reordering new batches.
So many items are now found "not available" if requested.
We also suffer from the few parts jobsworths who use this reply as standard.
Dealers are required as part of their franchise to clear old residual stock and dispose to scrap.
They are audited on compliance.
It actually costs them to send to scrap so some bend the rules a bit and sell job lots to traders or offer as items cheap on ebay.
Either way there is not a comprehensive supply out there sat waiting for us to decide we need it.
As onthecut has mentioned previously in actual practice PSA has supported the XM with spares for quite a bit longer than many other manufacturers do with there models.

Hi all, I haven't been on here for about a year - unwellness has forced changes to my way of life. But, my Czech friend used to say in the face of adversity, 'still alive!'

I have been keeping an eye on the forum, hence this post.

About the parts catalogue, I've got a CD of XM1 and XM2 parts as issued by Citroen. I'll happily copy and post to any one who wants one. Just PM me your address.

Just an update, my wife's S2 2.1 is up to 300,00+ now on the same engine with no major problems. Goes like a dream, and is a good load lugger too.
