You know you want to...

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

There are a couple floating about Robert. Fil (from the CXM rally) has one, but he made it himself, and so does Keith Webb but that's an original one (the one off Top Gear). There's also a red one (resprayed into, I think, Regal Red) that has been "Maikonics'd" and lays about not running and the owner wants £4000 for it!!! Bearing in mind it's an ex-write off that's pretty silly money! :? There are some others - Roger (Bradford) knows the whereabouts of the right hand drive cars - IIRC there are 6 RHD Prestige Turbo 2s. I think a blue one went to China/Japan and another one just vanished. Roger knows all of the details though, I'm sure.

Fil also has a black series one Prestige that has a turbo 2 engine and is "Maikonics'd". Now that, is the ultimate for me, but I've got to stick with my 2nd favourite of the black with black leather Maikonics Turbo 2 a la picture below. But, I am contemplating fitting a Turbo 2 Maikonics converted engine to a S1 Turbo...then you've got the looks and the power!
it to my 'ultimate' condition. Yet!!
What's the ultimate condition Andrew...'CGOO' standards!! :P ;)

As for the CX or XM debate of which to have....I think people already know my choice!!!

Ah yes...of course! :D I wouldn't mind an XM to be artistic on again. Anyone on the CCC forum will remember that XM estate...unforuntately their not suitable for this forum!

Fils prestige (was a LHD Prestige Turbo 2, but converted in to RHD):

The eagle eyed will spot the 'bar' on the spoiler of my CX!

Keith Webb's:

Hmmm....Keith's hasn't got a "2" on the end of the CX PRESTIGE TURBO badge, so that indicates it being a Turbo 1, Series 2 (or Turbo 1 and 1/2 as I call them). Never noticed that before! :!:

And it only has the small 'lip' spoiler, does that also indicate it's a Turbo1? That prestige Turbo2 really interests me as a car. I didn't get to see it last year but will have a close look this year.

Not sure...but don't think so. I know that they didn't have the Turbo T slot alloys, as correct on Keith's car.
I'll have to ask Roger as this has got me confused now! :?

Also, just found the ad on the CCC about that Red Prestige Turbo, and that was posted on Jun 19, 2008 - 05:05 PM.
Most of you chaps will have seen my CX featured in the Citroenian, I bought it a couple of years ago with the intention of restoring her to her rightful glory. She is a 1987 model year, originally in a light blue, but repainted at great expense by a wealthy barrister who owned it in the 1990s. He also had the vinyl roof removed and a sunroof fitted. The paint colour is Rolls Royce Regal Red, very close to one of Citroen’s colours apparently. The car runs very well, and was fitted with a Maikonics conversion to the electronics bringing the BHP up significantly from the standard output. The motor is strong, and the chassis is very solid now as i have spent £1k on welding work! I have 2 very good headlights for her and a new front bumper i intended to fit. But she needs a respray!

I understand this is a rare car, being one of only 5 RHD Series 2 CX25 Prestige Turbo 2s ever made, due to the fact they were only available at special order.

I bought her for £2400, fitted new spheres all round, fitted very rare Wolfrace alloy wheels which were sold in the 1970s as an alternative to fitting the expensive TRX tyres, they are in excellent condition, with brand new tyres. Also fitted a custom made heavy gauge stainless steel exhaust system, and dog bone engine mount, hamburger mount and gearbox mount!

need the space (and money!) for 2 ID19 projects! She is taxed, and i will MOT her ready for her next owner.

Steve
Actually...just remembered of a silver one too!

Image
I guess that they should just have the small spoiler then! :) And, being an E reg it would have the Turbo 2 engine, and Keith's wouldn't because of the age...C Reg.

So, to summarise:

1. Keith Webb's Blue
2. Steve's Blue - Now Red
3. One silver (above)
4. One to Japan/China
5. One A.W.OL.

Non-original :
6. Fil's Blue.

So that was you then!? That wouldn't be something I'd be joking about actually. I found that totally bloody silly even if it was supposed to be a joke.

I don't especially 'get' Visas and have never had much to 'do' with Bx's but would never inflict similar treatment to them just because they're not my 'preferred' Citroen model and I certainly wouldn't provocatively broadcast my feelings in such a way on an enthusiast owner forum. :(

Don't forget you're on an Xm model specific forum now. I'm probably pushing it talking about Cx's already by starting this thread in the first place.

Sorry I'm really not trying to be antagonistic - I do feel strongly about this.

Totally unnecessary anyhow, I won't want to be going to any rallies anytime soon.

T'was I. I knew it would cause a reaction to that XM, but nothing serious was meant of it. It was a joke. If somebody else did the same to a scrap Visa, CX or BX (i'm not the greatest fan TBH) then fair enough. It's their car to do with what they want. I'm a huge fan of CXs, and I don't think I'd be that affected by it, and if it said XM Rules OK on it I know it was wrong anyway! ;) Sorry if it affected you a lot Andrew, was meant to be a laugh!

. - Unfortunately, and I'm sure people that already know me know, I'm a bit controversial - that's how I am! I could have made it worse If I wanted too...Did I post them on here? Also, just looking back at that old CCC thread, photobucket seems to have 'eaten' the pictures for me already :? , so nobody can see them ATM:

Yes I know, but you could've posted it in the General chat section, but it's probably better to keep it organised in the sales section.

Eh? :| That wasn't my doing was it? :? I'd certainly like to see one of your S1 CX Turbos there. The numbers need keeping up at the events. :)
