Activa for Dean??

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

  yes it is funny but his body kit isnt as much of a windbrake as the ones above i have to admit i wouldnt put a bodykit on a car, if the car needs a body kit then its ugly to start with and i wouldnt buy it in the first place......................i may email him and see if i can have a look at it, not to buy of course because even if i wanted to i dont have the money but you know, maybe he wants a nice warranteed Rover :)

or maybe he is only selling as its costing him to much to keep it running, if we could sort a turbo out for him and get it running he may keep it, he's obviously not been enlightened with the FCF and may of lost hope................would be a shame if that is the case

Whichever way you look at this, there's the very real chance the engine will need to come out
so it'd make sense to chuck a new clutch in. Maybe he's reached saturation point with it and
vowed not a penny more - £6k in bills is eye watering - for that I'd probably have bought a
Porsche 928 s4.

Gareth (was Xantiaman) on FCF fitted a hybrid turbo to his s2 - not sure now but I think it was
a Volvo one but anyhow, it gave the car a much better bigger engine feel. The constant torque
2.0i turbo set up isn't a racer of a turbo set up - that's why I can't understand why so many idiot
Puggeriser Barry Boys get all steamed up about them.

yeah he used a tomcat compressor, the thing you have to understand is a barry is lazy and if he can find a blown engine that will bolt straight into his 205 he's going to use it.
The turbo could be done without lifting the engine im sure, rocking maybe but do i need another project like that? or could i have th activa for hooliganism and leave the xm and its engine alone?

Get the Rover sold, and buy the Activa! I think your £600 is a fair enough price for a MOTd Activa that is problem free. This one is worth little more than scrap I'm afraid. You never know, you may get it yet. As Andrew says the old ferry trip is a bit of a barrier to some people.

I vote you leave the XM alone, and use the TCT spares on the Activa!

and ive spent that on the xm over the years with buying it and various mods and fettling, if his 6 grand incudes the mods and garage bills then its suddenly not a lot of money, im sure he has had it 8 years now it has to be as i lived in the same road as him for that long!

Its starting to look like a plan you know Robert...............but i will have two cars and a van none of which work

Use the Rover as a van! Just leave the drivers seat in it, and you have a small van!

Don't forget there's even less room in an Activa engine bay than the equivalent Xm TCT!!
I'm dreading sorting out a farty manifold on one of my Activae.

Without the complication of being on the IoW I'd say it'd get to somewhere around £430
on ebay - even some Xant v6 24v have struggled to get past this recently.

I sent him a message and it is clear he would prefer if the car was sold on the mainland which i guess is why it isnt on wightbay or anywhere else localy.
I can understand him not wanting to see the car all the time if its a reluctant sale but there was talk of scrapping :(
