Breaking - XM 2.5TD VSX Estate

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi Franklin

I will have the strut heads as they are the larger type and do not fit Pauls 2.1 unless he takes the struts as well.

Hi John,

Ok that's fine if Paul doesn't want them/won't fit...I will take some pictures for you and Paul so you can see the condition.

Cheers.

Hi Nigel,

I haven't tried the windows yet, but will see what they are like when I am with the car and report back for you.

Unfortunately I'm not sure about the noise - I'm no expert on XMs you see! :) Perhaps try the Electrical Technical section.

Cheers.

Hi Harryjoe

Stock fault is wear and a bit of conductive debris in the contacts of the indicator stalk.
Causes the indicator relay to click but does not operate any of the lights.
Clean or repair, plenty of posts about this fix.
Should give you an introduction to that boon of XM repair the "pingfuckit" as christened by Ciaran.
Easy to take to bits once you work out how to get in.
No chance of capturing all the bits that spring out.
No hope of knowing where they came from.

Hi Nigel

Another stock fault is continuous buzzing.
Irritating but difficult to pinpoint.
This usually turns out to be the dirt and muck in the climate control sensor fan.
Found in the central roof light fixing.
Unscrew light to get at, blow out the dust and lubricate.

A bit O/T from the above posts but to anybody interested, the plip and receiver for the remote central locking work brilliantly! :)

Hi Duke

Two plips or only one?
Condition of button rubber on plip?
Would be useful to know where car is going to be scrapped.
Thanks.

John
