Re: Sad news from CCC
I am shocked. I spent quite a bit of time with Roger over the CX rally weekend. He took me out in his Prestige on the Convoy run, and was at the same table as me during the meal.

Re: Sad news from CCC
WOW. He sure seemed to be in fine health the other weekend at CXM.
At least he died doing something he loves doing, being at a classic car show.
Someone hadn't told him he was going to have to drive a diesel, had they?

Re: Sad news from CCC
I too, am very shocked at this news - It was completely unexpected, and Roger was a very good friend of mine. His huge wealth of knowledge, good sense of humour and willing to help or lend a hand even if it was at his inconvenience will be missed greatly.
A picture to show his love of CXs, and Citroens.
He had just driven down there in his newly acquired C6 Exclusive (in his favourite colour combination Silver with Black leather... a la his Prestige) with LPG conversion.

Re: Sad news from CCC
This has come as one heck of a shock, especially when so many of us were busy speaking to him on Sunday at Stratford.
A terribly tragic loss to the Citroen community as a whole.
I got to know Roger fairly well through his Xantia V6 and a few issues he was having with it.
He was one of life's real gentlemen of the old school and will be sadly missed.
My thoughts go out to his family at this terribly sad time..

Re: Sad news from CCC
RIP Roger..
As some of you may know , i was at the CXM this year, and only mangaed to meet a few of you from here, and i believe that i did spend some time talking to this gentleman, was he the guy that parked his Silver CX just inside the field , with the Citroen banner under the front wheels, ??,
It's a job remembering names .
But if this is the gentleman i spent quite some time talking to, and i'm sure it is, i woul like to say that he is one of lifes last gentlemen, a truly genuine guy, my thoughts are with his family at this very sad time .
I appolaigise, if i am speaking about the wrong gentleman,
Nigel

Indeed it is:Citroenesque wrote:That's the chap. The funeral is on Thursday.
From the CCC Website wrote:A further update:
The funeral is confirmed for next Thursday 30th September.
The procession will be leaving...
The Black Bull Public House
89 High Street,
Somersham,
Huntingdon,
Cambridgeshire,
PE28 3EE
...at 3pm (for those who want to drink prior or cannot drive from there, Dews Coaches have very kindly given a free 52 seat bus for transportation) for the funeral at 3.45pm at...
Cambridge Crematorium,
Huntingdon Road,
Cambridge
CB3 0JJ
...(although this is the formal address it is not in the City itself but directly on the side of the main A14 dual carriageway).
It would have been Roger's wish that black was not necessary and Citroen jackets are welcomed - Flowers are also welcome.
The wake will follow back at the Black Bull where one half of the car park will be dedicated to Citroens.
Regards
Patrick Rugg
